Who ing cares.
Would ya believe they came from another pro league? They came into existence in 1946 as a member of the All American Football Conference. They spent 4 seasons there going 38-14-2. Entered the NFL in 1950.
The Niners had the first back to have consecutive 1000 yard seasons in Joe "The Jet" Perry, that was 53/54. They had the first HBCU back to gain a 1000 yards in a season in NCA&T's J.D.Smith, a cornerback made into a running back. The Niners are the only team to have 4 future HOFers in their backfield all there at the same time.
QB..Y.A. tle LSU
RB..Hugh "The King" McElhenny Washington
FB..John Henry Johnson ASU (more a Steeler however)
FB..Joe "The Jet" Perry...Compton JC (only JC only player to ever have an NFL 1000 yard season)
The shot gun formation started with the Niners. As did the Alley Oop pass, that was a pass simply thrown up there from tle for basketballer R.C.Owens to go get.
No team has had a better gang of QB's than...
Y.A. tle
John Brodie
Joe Montana
Steve Young
Lesser degree...Jim Plunkett, Jeff Garcia, Alex Smith, Colin Kaepernick
No team has had bigger names playing wide receiver than....Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss. The greatest QB ever was a Niner, as was the best WR. It gets no better than Montana/Young to Rice.
When it comes to Superbowls they are right there with the Cowboys as the most successful coming out of the NFC. They have their legendary coach in Bill Walsh, who made a huge impact on the game.
Hall of famers other than the 4 mentioned.
Joe Montana
Steve Young
Jerry Rice
Dave Wilcox
Bob St. Clair
Leo Nomellini
Ronnie Lott
O.J.Simpson....obviously a Bill
Bob Hayes...obviously a Cowboy
Now here they are again just a game away at another shot at that Championship belt. Just like last season, only this time the game won't be fumbled away as those Niner big guys beat up on some Falcons.
Can they beat the Patriots? Well they already did. But can they do it again in the biggie? I do have my doubts, these Niners have never been there while those Pats have, will Tom Brady lose again, I gotta doubt it. We will miss both Manningham and Hunter. Moss and James a step down.
But ya never know and stranger things have happened.
What team is superior to...
QB..Joe Montana
RB..Frank Gore
RB..Roger Craig
WR...Jerry Rice
WR...Terrell Owens
TE...Vernon Davis

Who ing cares.
I really do love how Avante keeps spamming about the Pats/Niners Super Bowl that's "definitely going to happen"... with his ful takes and lefty-esque jinxes, it gives me more hope of seeing a Ravens/Falcons matchup, tbh![]()

I'll never forgive Roger Craig for that fumble. Bills would've beaten that niner team.
Ok slick I got the Niners vs Pats, what do you have?
The Niners played in 5 SB's and won them all, the Bills played in 4 SB's and lost them all, what's that tell you?
Tells me it wouldve been 4-1 at that point. BB's magnum opus was that SB imo...well, that an the Rams game too.
It's pretty obvious the Niners knew how to get ready for a game of that size while the Bills didn't. But I was always amazed at how a team with their best QB, RB, WR all there together along with a great D never won a SB.
The Falcons will beat the Niners. And you didn't even know about the A.A.F.C. until I told you about it a few weeks ago.![]()
To be honest, the Niners should win if they don't beat themselves, but they have to be careful since the Falcons beat a better Seahawks team. Niners need to avoid the same mistakes Seattle did otherwise they will fall short.
And for last season and this they get the Coach of the Year in Jim Harbaugh.
Matt Ryan will return to his playoff form on Sunday. Thr 49ers D will be getting to him all day long. The only way the 49ers lose this game is by literally giving it to the Falcons.
The 49ers are winning the SB this year
There is NO way they lose to the teams left in the playoffs
Too deep, too good, so well coached
Matt Ryan is content with the one playoff win. He won't play with as much ambition the way he did against Seattle.
Kaepernik will choke. I saw what happened to him in Seattle.
psssssh.
Ya no chance Kaep bounces back from Seattle.
He only set the all time qb playoff rushing record last week.
Plus Justin Smith was out vs Seattle. Anchor of the D.
Harbaugh himself said they didn't wanna give too much away to Seattle and had a very vanilla gameplan for them in the regular season in case they met in the playoffs.
Gonna have to bookmark this thread tbh.
The Niners will beat the Falcons and I have always known about the AAFC, I own...The Official NFL Encyclopedia.....I never mentioned I'm an historian? What all do you want to know about that league?
You read my mind.
Oh really? Then why did you post that Otto Graham won 7 NFL Championships?
Right here in my hand on page 418, I have everything Otto Graham ever did. Starting in the AAFC obviously.
Not sure what I was thinking there, as we know Graham did play in 10 Championship games in 10 years with the Browns.
Well aware of everything having to do with the old AAFC. It's all here in this book.
Then there was the Amazing Marion Mottley also a Brown. Check out these AAFC averages...
8.2
6.1
6.1
5.0
...no starting back comes close to that over a 4 season span. His career average (8 seasons)....a gaudy...5.7
The thing with Graham is that no QB ever made it to the le game 10 years in a row, but him.
The NFC was just better from 1984-1996. They had 5 powerhouse football teams for all or some of those years: Walsh's 49ers, Parcells' Giants, Ditka's Bears, Gibbs' Redskins, and Jimmy's Cowboys--they were all stacked with talent and (with the exception of da Bears) were coached by some of the greatest football minds in history. The Bills were the best team in 1990 (and were heavy favs), but the Giants devised an excellent gameplan and beat them. You know who the architect of that was? None other than BB, who duplicated that feat in 2001 when they were a 2-td underdog to the Rams. Still, that was Buffalo's only real shot at a SB. That 1991 Redskins team is one of the best in NFL history, and the Cowboys of the early 90's had a greater collection of talent on all sides than perhaps any team in history.
