My case sucks. Someone link me to the top shelf, most premium iphone 4S case there is.

it's not top shelf, but I have had the Speck Candy S Flip for over a year, it's great. My car charger is larger than the openings on most cases so this works perfectly:

    I also like Switcheasy cases.

Get an Otterbox for the iPhone 4S?

I've had the Otterbox Defender for my Note II and it's amazing.

I've been using an Otterbox for my iPhone 4S. It was a little pricey if I remember, but it's solid. It makes the phone huge, though. But--I put it through and the phone itself still looks flawless when I take it out of the case for cleaning.

This is what I ended up doing. Bought the Otterbox defender on amazon for $20 after my roommate decided to demonstrate how good it is by throwing his phone against the wall in his Otterbox case with the phone ending up unscathed (still not a bright idea on his part). It does make the phone huge but I can tell it's legit.

Question - do you have an additional screen protector on the phone in between the case and the screen or not? I left mine on figuring it can't hurt.

I don't, but it definitely can't hurt. The screen protector on the box itself doesn't actually seal against the screen, so things can get in between the screen and the protector. Now that you mention that, I feel like I really should put an additional protector on it.
