    From Spurs Nation

"He may or may not be in uniform when the Spurs play the Bobcats tonight, but All-Star power forward and team captain Tim Duncan was a full participant in Tuesday’s practice session — a welcome sight for teammates and coaches alike"

"Duncan’s status for tonight’s game, he said, is still questionable.

He’s improving a little bit every day, but as of (Monday) morning, he’s still not where we want him to be,” Popovich said. “We’ll see where he is tomorrow. This is the first time he’s really gone up and down the court and tested it. Tomorrow morning will tell the tale.”

He hasn't played since the 76ers game last Monday. If he misses this game and plays against the Wizards he will have played game in the past 12 days.

I'm still hoping this is some sort of CIA move by Pop to just rest him since the team has the best record and we've been playing some soft teams...and he will play in the All Star game later, and the rodeo road trip is coming up. Given that Pop has been taking a break too for the same time, the timing seems odd. But we'll never know with the Spurs as they keep everything close to the chest.

I suggest Timmy not to be in uniform when the Spurs play the Bobcats tonight that means he will have 4 more days off

I'm guessing Timmy went on a multi-week cruise with Pop.

This. I have no problems with Duncan getting extra rest against softer opponents, especially since he won't be getting any rest during all-star weekend. I'd rather the Spurs be overly cautious with Duncan's knee anyways.

Now I am a little more worried, because its obvious that they did not only rest him to rest him, but because he really has a problem with his knees. To keep him in rhythm it would be good to play him against Charlotte and Washington - if he cannot do it I am inclined to push the panic button.

Let him rest now because he won't get a true rest during All Star weekend anyway. CIA Pop resting Duncan during a lull in the schedule and weak compe ion.

In all honesty, I'm totally fine with Duncan sitting another game. It just makes sense. Let him get some extended rest.

Actually, I wonder if this was really the plan the whole time. It was a nice time to grab him some rest while the team plays a cluster of home games, against sub .500 teams, with plenty of rest days in between.

This is scheduled rest - don't expect him 'til after Washington game (10 more days off). Invaluable come playoff time.
