I've always felt like he does, and it seems that it's been discussed before that he's a chucker from way back. If someone on my team is going to take 17 shots, I wouldn't want it to be RonRon.

Goran got said they left him open on purpose. The Lakers moved the ball extremely well. The shots just didn't fall. You could have Jamison taking those shot because dude was on fire last night but he'd be guarding Beasley. Beasley toasted Artest and if that's the case, I woulda had Jamison in to take those wide open shots. Dude had 13 points in 12 minutes.

He was wide open on most of them. It's not like he's forcing up like Kobe. If your guy is open, you want him to take the shot. Now if you think MWP isn't capable of knocking those down consistently then don't have him spot up beyond the arc. The Suns were giving MWP that shot and he didn't make them pay.

You don't watch the Lakers regularly ...he forces up at least 3 poor shots per game on less attempts. Sure Kobe, takes some dumb shots but at least he hits some of them ...MWP forced shots are horrid ...wide open he is ok tbh ..

Why can't D'Antoni shuffle his players on offense and defense ? He could easily play Artest as SF & Jamison as PF defensively while in offense, play Artest as PF and Jamison otherwise. That way, the Suns won't be able to just leave Artest all alone in the paint area defensively.

if you can't even hit them open shots then your a liability at the offensive end especially when you play SF. the younger artest was a beast on both ends of the floor but even in defense the current MWP is just an above average player at best imho. there were even rumors about lakers intending to amnesty him back then

His stats often are the polar opposite of the rest of the starters, but other than Kobe, he's taking the most shots it seems (not sure about the season stats). He bricks all the time. He's not the person you want taking those shots. , the fans are open, want them taking shots?

There are two other starters I would have shooting before Ron Ron (maybe 3 if Clark is starting). If it's Pau starting, I'd have him just inside the arc before having Ron chucking up bricks.

The Lakers need a good 3pt weapon. Ray Allen would have fit in perfectly in that system, especially with Mike D's offense. Not sure he'd change teams to the enemy, but it's all about the money.

Its not his fault. He was given the green light to shoot by D'Antoni. Mike believes Ron is one his designated sharp shooter in his offense. And their game plan exactly mirrors this quote back in November.

"He should be wide open every time. . . . He was 4-9 for threes. He's 10 a game and I told him he needs to make 4-10 every game."
    -Mike D'Antoni

Ron always shot too much. He did the same in Houston. He's color blind, red light, green light, no difference.

According to a thread on LG "MWP is 22-for-82 in his last 7 games overall and it's been 13 games since he's shot 50 pct or better from the floor. He's also averaging 12 shots per game."

You can't be this bad when your constantly open, this dude gotta be one of the top worst starters in the league at this point and needs to go.

IMO, MWP is the biggest problem on the team. He doesn't consistently provide what they need. Notice, that generally when he is shooting the 3 ball well, they win and look really good.

They need a consistent 3 point threat at that position. If they replaced him with a guy like Battier, the Lakers would probably be in a top 5 seed spot right now.

I think he really screws the flow of the offense up. Then Dwight gets rattled easily it seems when things aren't flowing, so then he in turn starts playing lazy, and then that gets the whole team pissed off at Dwight and then they all look like .

And I don't necessarily blame MWP. He is trying to do his best, it's just that he isn't a very consistent 3 pt shooter, and being a spot up corner guy isn't his game. He is being played out of his strengths.
