They can`t play monkeyball without Paul. If he leaves, they can trade away Griffin, Jordan too.
The Los Angeles Clippers remain confident that they will re-sign Chris Paul this offseason, but they are also in win-now mode and might be a player or two short from truly contending for a le.
"I'm saying 99.5 percent." said one source close to the situation about the odds of Paul remaining with the Clippers beyond the current season.
The Clippers know trading away Eric Bledsoe before Paul signs a new deal is a major risk, but trading him away is also their best shot at significantly improving their roster. Sources say doing nothing before the deadline could be the bigger gamble in regards to Paul.

Why would he give up.an extra year of 25 million? No.
the only 0.5 chance is if he plays like the rest of season and the clippers refuses to give him the max, then he'll get the max somewhere else (dallas for example)
No one's goin to ty ass Dallas
Where else can he go?unlike Howard, everyone loves CP3 in that locker room. He's running the best show in L.A., he ain't going nowhere.
mavs are following a similar rebuilding path as us through 07-10 imho. win a championship and immediately turn crap, sign some big FAs and a dynasty is founded. dont know there're many teams in the league who're gonna have enough room to land a max player tbh
They have an owner who can't seem to![]()
