is this head to head?
'99 spurs, '00 lakers, '01 lakers, '02 lakers, '03 spurs, '05 spurs.
Which team is the best?
is this head to head?
Lakers--because they did it three in a row.
The 2005 Spurs would beat any of those Laker teams asses.
But which team will Horry side with? And another thing, do you actually think the '05 Horry > '02 Horry?
Horry '05 performance >>>>>>>> Horry '02 performance.
im sorry but the lakers hands down, they had much more of a killer instinct and consistency than any of our spurs teams (although you do have to give the '99 team props) i think the lakers as of right now are still gonna be looked back on at this decade so far as THE team, however if SA can get at least 2 more championships before 2010 which is likely, the decade should belong to them
Lakers were more dominant in those 3 years. The spurs took advantage of the years where there weren't any dominant teams.

I still think the best of the six mentioned is the 2001 Laker team. Although you can make a case for the 1999 Spur team being a close second. That 99 team did beat Kobe and Shaq.
That was before Phil Jackson. Kobe got better later and Phil Jackson came up with some tricky schemes to beat the spurs later on and dominated those 3 years. They even beat a very good Sacramento team in their 3rd championship. They are clearly more dominant than San Antonio.
Yeah Scto with that Horry shot and PTB with miracle comeback when the Blazers couldn't score $h!t
Yeah and that miracle miss by Horry against San Antonio. I guess Horry decided at that point if you can't beat them joint them.
Horry was with the spurs at the very begining
Now that's what I'm talkin aboutif you can't beat them joint them.![]()
forget the 3 laker champ teams, cuz by the time this is all said and done, Duncan will have as many rings and finals mvps as Jordan(maybe 1 short finals mvp, cuz manu eventually 1 win himself)
'01 Lakers. Then again, the weakest and worst was the '00 Lakers.
spursdaone - you obviously don't think so, so maybe you should get a new handle.
The lakers owned San Antonio from 2000-2002. It was not until Shaq got way out of shape from injuries that San Antonio won. If Horry made that shot San Antonio would never have beaten LAL that year.
Every yr the Lakers won the le they didn't have to play a real team in the NBA Finals. The Lakers won the le when they won the West. LA found out what it is like to play a real team..LA should've been swept but Kobina put up some luck & they escaped with a 4 games to 1 AZZ KICKIN'!
Unfortunately Detroit wasn't San Antonio in 2004. LAL owned San Antonio.
THE 2003 SPURS WITH SPEEDY AND JAX WAS THE CLOSEST THING THE SPURS EVER HAD TO A TEAM THAT WOULD BE ACCEPTED BY THE MASS MEDIA AND THEY EVEN WERE SATRTIN TO A KINDA BAD BOY EDGE WIT SPEEDY AND JAX ON THE TEAM... O WELL I GUESS THATS WHY WE DONT HAVE THOSE GUYS ON THE TEAM ANYMORE... BUT THAT TEAM WOULD BEAT THIS 2005 TEAM... TIMMY WAS PLAYIN AT A HIGHER LEVEL THE BACKUP PG WAS A KILLER JAX GAVE U JUST AS MUCH AS MANU BOWEN WAS YOUNGER...DANNY FERRY.. KERR... THAT TEAM WAS THE BEST SPURS TEAM EVER!!!!![]()
