Age, and a lack of hair.
It used to be almost automatic that he would go up there and hit it but now you can always expect him to miss them. He used to be the most reliable guy on the team for hitting them but now he's not. That's one part of his game I thought he would continue to be good at.
He's a geriatric old fart, being inconsistent is within his domain tbh.
Yeah I was wondering the same. I'm of the mind that he is just rusty.
I picked up on the habit of closing my eyes everytime he's at the FT line. He's been so bad from there.
Hes thinking about it for whatever reason, you can tell he gets pissed every time he misses one. but honestly every free throw he missed rolled out thats a good sign, if its hitting the left or right of the rim then his shot is off
I don't get it, Timmy/Tony/Tiago are all having career years at the stripe but Manu isn't.
a lot of his shots are short, FT and jumpers, tired? weak?
Lack of focus and effort...has plagued him throughout his career.
Effort? I agree with lack of focus but I would never put lack of effort and Manu Ginobili in the same sentence
Can you say sarcasm?
Meh, that's typical of Manu when he's working his way back from injury. He'll go through these rough patches but then it'll even out when he becomes all but automatic when he rediscovers his rhythm.
He got the majority of his points from the line tonight!
Manu looked like 2007 Manu to me tonight.
wish we could bottle it and save it for April may.
He's shooting 82% from the free throw line this year, guys. He's down from the 85-90% he has been at over the last few years, but it's not a huge difference.
It wasn't until 2006-2007 that he became an elite free throw shooter. Here were his numbers prior to that:
2002-2003 - 74%
2003-2004 - 80%
2004-2005 - 80%
2005-2006 - 78%
And then he shot from the mid- to upper-80s from there on out until this year, but he's still at 82%, which is better than in either of his first four seasons.
LOL can't have them all on, one Spur has to be off from the LINE! If not that would not be the SPURS!
Solid research.![]()
So.......the sky ISN'T falling?![]()
Manu seems more efficient then his numbers show
maybe the terrible AT&T boxscore keepers messing up
feels like hes been a 50/38/85+ guy his whole career
in 05 he got to the line whenever he wanted and he was automatic
80 isnt automatic
He's been constantly above 20 PER for most of his career too and has a TS% in the high 50s.
nervous
Yeah, I think it's a rhythm thing with Manu.
The FT shooting against the Warriors ended up causing the Spurs to lose that game. They missed 9 FTs (Tim 3, Tiago 3, Tony 2, Manu 1).
dude's broken. inside and out
