Bush Runs Offense and Leads Kerry by 2 Points; President Rallies Troops and Stumps on Leadership, Strength and Decisiveness; New Zogby America Poll Reveals
President George W. Bush and Vice-President Cheney have taken a two point lead over Massachusetts Senator John Kerry and North Carolina Senator John Edwards (46%-44%), according to a new Zogby America poll. The telephone poll of 1001 likely voters was conducted from Monday through Thursday (August 30-September 2, 2004) during the Republican National Convention in New York City. Overall results have a margin of sampling error of +/-3.2.

But, Nbadan's poll interpretations are just about the only entertainment we have on this forum.
I was thinking about NBADan this morning.....AOL has it's own little poll going, and in electoral votes Bush is up 535 to 3. :shock
My first thought was damn, a lot of Republicans subscribe to AOL....then I thought, "Nah, that's about right."

Ain't that a kicker.
a 2 point lead? damn...::raises white flag::
It's fairly significant seeing as how Zogby had already pronounced Bush dead.
when and where did he do that?
'bout a month ago, Zogby predicted a Kerry win...a substantial Kerry win.
so a 2 point lead after the republican convention proves him wrong? maybe we should wait until the election is over
Actually, the 2 point lead was during the convention. Read before you post.
thanks, but regardless its foolish to call the election with 2 months left to go
I hope it was in the shower. :winkI was thinking about NBADan this morning.....

These numbers seem a little more realistic than that garbage poll that Time put out yesterday. No other poll to date has W. at even half the percentage lead that Time gave him. Nationally, the race is very close. If you only count 'likely voters' or 'voters who voted in 2000' as most polls do, I could see how the race is still effectually 50-50.Bush Runs Offense and Leads Kerry by 2 Points; President Rallies Troops and Stumps on Leadership, Strength and Decisiveness; New Zogby America Poll Reveals
By the way, I noticed that the Time poll, as questionable as it is, was mentioned consistently yesterday on Radio and T.V.. I hope that the mass media isn't falling into the same trap that they fell into prior to the war in Iraq. This time, to make people apathetic about voting.
You know, Nbadan, I'm sticking with Rassmussen, it seems reputable and was recommended by a poll-hound, you.
They had him at 49 to 45 yesterday...on polling done before the president's speech. We should really know the bounce, according to Rasmussen, at noon today.
Of course we should pay attention to this poll now because Bush's lead is less than in the Time poll.
This poll was taken during the convention and I'm not sure if any of the polling occurred after the president's acceptance speech.
I'm sorry, actually, it'll be the Tuesday poll that shows how Rasmussen records any bounce since they average the previous 3 days data for their numbers. And, on Tuesday, it'll be Friday, Saturday, and Monday's data (they don't poll on Sunday).
So, we'll get an idea on Tuesday. He's holding at 49 to 45 today.
