After reading that ESPN article posted here in these forums about the Cavs going after a few F.A.'s & wanting to get rid of Gooden for a more DEF minded low post guy, It occured to me that maybe Gooden could be a nice fit for us?

he's very active, tons of energy, is athletic, can give you REB & Scoring, he got a few 20/20 games this past season.
I wouldn't mind him on our team in a trade for Nazr or even Rasho. I'm hoping the Spurs don't dish out the $ that Nazr's agent might be asking for.

    Opinions?

Nope. Gooden is a head case. Every team who gets him wants to trade him right away.

    There's a reason for that.

    P.S.

He's also the worst defensive big man in the league.

Gooden sucks. He'll break Massenberg's record of most teams played for. Like LJ said, there's a reason for that (and it ain't good).

Gooden is weak defender and rebounder. I would trade Nazr for him. Nazr is going to be a lot better next season. Training camp and a full year with the team will make him a very good player for us.

You wanna trade a stand-up guy who plays an active role and wants to rebound and play defense for a future journeyman who can't do and isn't any of that stuff?

    Nuh-uh.

Plus why would we trade a legitimate center for a power forward. well have 5 power forwards and 1 center, and that wouldnt work to well.

Gooden sucks ass...He's Antoine Walker without the defense, and smart shot selection.

In the games I watched I remembered Gooden getting 10-15 rebounds. You're right about the D though. He would be a perfect fit in Dallas.

The better trade is RASHO for MARSHALL

Nah, I'll pass on that. Gooden isn't the guy we need. Also, I'm not seeing Nazr going anywhere anytime soon. Unless we can't get a contract done with him.

Nazr is kool, but he faded down the stretch, became a liability on the court.

I don't mind Nazr as a stop plug for now, but I wouldn't resign him after his final yr on his current contract unless he's willing to take far less than what he could get from another team.

We have the 18 yr old frenchie, who'll be ready in a yr or 2 to step in & help take a huge load off TD.
