Would be a great pick up with the Room Exception to backup Kawhi.

If he still had something in the tank, he'd be playing ahead of Teague and Cook (still mad at him for his game 5 barrage last year). He's the last guy off the bench for them. No thanks. And despite the height, in no way can he backup Kawhi at the 3. He weighs under 200 pounds.

I would rather sign a 3/4 than a 2/3. If you find a 4, you can always find minutes for Diaw at the 3 behind Leonard. He's shown he's more than serviceable defensively (heck, he even guarded Lebron in that game where nobody played) and can post up small guys on mismatches.

No. He should be starting for the Bulls. But he's just not very good anymore.

    35 minutes, 15 points on 6-12 shooting.

I disagree we need a 3/4, because hopefully this summer we will spend big on a 4 and be able to offer Hamilton the Room Exception. He's still a knock down 3 point shooter and assuming we let Neal walk, I think he'd be an excellent replacement to fill his minutes.

There are a couple guys I would look at ahead of Rip, for example Garcia who did a great job on Durant for the Rockets in Round 1, but I wouldn't be unhappy to see him in a Spurs uniform as a guy to bring some offence.

No more old guys. He's also never been a "knock down three point shooter". He shot .308 this year, well below the NBA average. Even his career mark of .348 is still below average. He's old, meaning that his defense is likely slipping badly, probably the reason he was nailed to Chicago's bench until everyone else was dead.

Unfair analysis of his shooting IMO. His 30% this year is on limited attempts (only 52 shots) and his career average is distorted by poor shooting in his early seasons. In the last 8 years he's hit 37.5% of his 3's.

He still averaged 20 minutes in 50 games this year for Chicago, let's not act as though he was only playing garbage time minutes all year.

Again I'd rather go for another D&3 player like Francisco Garcia, but if we need someone who can score to replace Neal for a low salary we could do worse than Rip. Even at 35 he's a better defender than Neal so it would be an upgrade at the very least.

Spurs need a backup SF, not another 3rd string guard.

Dude is done. Was a liability than an asset for the Bulls.

Folks, Hamilton is absolutely done. Anyone who watched his sparse performances in the playoffs would know that.

Pass. Used to be deadly in the mid range and constantly moved. But he's essentially done as a player. Relegated to Jerry Stackhouse status.

Rip is done and SA doesn't need another guard.

He won't make more than the min next season if he makes a team.
