Spurs were rumored to be interested in him before he was drafting. I don't know if it's still the case or even if this rumor was true, but he could be a very cheap reclamation project even if Spurs still have a lot of guards.
They could have fewer guards next year. Manu is a FA, as is Neal. Mills has a player option of some sort.
That's true but even if some guards leaves, Spurs will still have a lot of guards because they have currently a crazy depth at these spots with 7 guards under contract. Spurs have some trimming to do in that area with trades and/or waiving and/or not re-signing their own FAs.
