Bus and train explosions. Hundreds feared injured. Reports of 'terrible' injuries.
LONDON, England (CNN) -- A bus was ripped apart in an explosion in central London today and several blasts rocked the Tube network leaving dozens of people injured.
The Tube blasts at the height of the rush hour on Thursday were initially blamed on a power surge.
But amid the chaos eyewitnesses reported that a packed double decker bus in the Russell Square area had been severely damaged in a blast.
Union officials blamed the Tube blasts on a series of bombs, and Scotland Yard confirmed the bus explosion and said it was dealing with "multiple explosions" in London.
A second bus was reported to have been damaged in Tavistock Square.
Describing the Russell Square blast, eyewitness Belinda Seabrook told the UK Press Association she saw an explosion rip through the bus as it approached the Square.
"I was on the bus in front and heard an incredible bang, I turned round and half the double decker bus was in the air," she said.
She said the bus was travelling from Euston to Russell Square and had been "packed" with people turned away from Tube stops.
7 subway explosions, 3 busses have blown up, according to CNN. Entire subway system is closed, cell phone system down, massive power outages.
One witness/survivor of a subway blast reports massive injuries on a subway train, many people severely injured. Entire cars blown up.
Scotland Yard says 4 explosions. 3 in the tube, 1 bus.
More rumors...apparently at the Kings Crossing station, it's no longer a 'rescue operation' but a recovery operation.

The entire subway system will need to be inspected for additional explosives.
Perhaps now Tony Blair will get the backing he needs from the people?

Dude, what the was the war in Afghanistan (seeking Osama Bin Laden with everything you've got) and then the war in Iraq ("apparently" overthrowing Saddam for being a terrorist ally and all the WMD and blah blah blah).
Based on what Bush adminstration said for the last years... that was everything you've got.

In the simplest terms? To further their agenda. They feel they can scare the West into doing what it wants from them. But that's nowhere near the same as saying they hate freedom.
