Meanwhile, TAU's sharpshooter Arvydas Macijauskas (192-G-80) could be the next one to leave TAU after he received many good offers from NBA teams. Apart from the interest showed by the Grizzlies, the Suns and the Warriors, Macijauskas is handling three offers made by the Boston Celtics, the Dallas Mavericks and the New Orleans Hornets. Macijauskas, who could miss next EC in summer, is decided to try in the States next season.

He is variously listed between 6'3" and 6'4 1/2", plays very little D but is a terrific shooter. One of the top scorers in Europe for the past several years.

Something to think about, the Spurs will have their LLE at least and perhaps their MLE (or parts of it) to sign some guys from the Euroleagues who are ready to make the jump. If they found someone amenable to spending most of next season on IR or deep on the bench...

i can´t imagine him being an nba player.. he´s quick and run very well.. but he´s not athletic and strong enought to play SG in nba. guys like him ( read:: giricek,... ) mostly sits in nba.- even in teams like utah.. we know that European SG or SF need to have extremly good athletic skills to be comparable with others. whatever.. this guy is just amazing shooter, he can make you crazy with his game.. but he s a weak defender also for european way. so i don´t believe that he can make a succesfull jump to nba.

Giricek is a great player. Macijauskas also. If NBA cannot stand such people, the coaches are little crazy over there. (both are as good as Stojakovic if given a chance)

They just need a eurocoach, and they would be a success. Even Pedja would not explode if he wouldn't have Divac beside him (almost a coach when was a King)

I watched this guy during the Euro Championships a couple of months ago. Maccabi inevitably owned Tau, but Macijauskas brought a lot of energy and is an excellent shooter. I could see him joining the Spurs as a rookie PG for the 2006-2007 season.

He can really shoot but I noticed when I watched him that he has a low release point. Not sure he could get that off in the NBA.

He'd pretty much fill the Steve Kerr role if the Spurs were to go after him.

Macy is good at moving off the ball, and is more offensively skilled/athletic than Steve Kerr. But if he were to be successful in the NBA it would have to be in the same fashion Kerr was. Hit open jumpers at a higher percentage.

In essense he would be a more potent scoring Steve Kerr. Which could be a very valuable piece to a championship calibur team that has a superstar ALA Duncan, KG, Shaq etc... who can get him open looks.
