He isn't spectacular at anything but he is average to above average in a lot of areas.

you surely not expecting him to be a prime KG or what? quality bigs are rare talents in the league today and most of them are overrated & overpaid (hemphris for exmple). a max-contract should be a well deserved one for this tbh
He just needs to to enough to make sure defenses don't ignore him, thus letting Russ and KD do work. He also is a huge assett when they're on the break and his weakside shot blocking helps them a great deal

He sucks. He's only about a top 5 shooter in the league from 16-23 feet. He shoots the corner 3 at about 45%. He leads the NBA in blocked shots. Runs the floor with Russell Westbrook. 15th in the league in offensive rebounding. Other than that, he really sucks. Thread starter would his pants in absolute joy if Serge Ibaka showed up on the floor with a Spurs jersey on.

This. He's twice as talented as Tiago. They play very differently, but you can bet we're going to overpay for Tiago because the league is starving for talented big men.
