ouch indeed! good luck wit that!
This could be led, now I know how Tim feels.
ewww!
The link is to a pic of my ankle after landing wrong on a stair at work and hitting the gound like a ton of bricks. Since that pic was taken yesterday, the entire foot is now a nice shade of purple, and it's in a cast as well. The first diagnosis is a severe sprain, but I get to see a specialist once the swelling goes down. It's not completely gross, but not for the weak of heart, either. At least I get to work from home tomorrow, and I've got some good painkillers to keep me company now.![]()

someone is in need of a damn pedicure. And its not that bad, and Its sad that you did that on a stair, I sprained both of my ankles in HS playing with D. Brown. In about a week, you should be able to push on that swollen area, and leave an impression of your finger... kind of like a stress ball.
I'm married; I don't need a pedicure.and it's not like I was posing for Vogue. We're keeping pics for legal "just in case" reasons.
I can push on it now and leave an impression. It looks much worse now; hence the cast I'm now sporting. You went to HS with D. Brown? That makes me almost old enough to be your father.
... almost.![]()
Ouch. Sounds like workers comp time. Just kidding ... kinda
Good luck to you.
If all else fails, try spraining the other ankle to balance it out. Worked for Tim.
I have some strong ankles, I've landed on my ankles many of times but never broke it or sprained it. Good for me I guess.
Now multiply that by 2 and go outside play basketball for 34 minutes then shoot some free throws. Then you have a small taste of what Tim had to go through :p
Your pain could be our gain!
Then again, it's hard to win a case caused by clumsiness.
That pictures is grotesque!
you may wanna tap the brakes there. He's not the first human to play with a badly spraigned ankle
Welcome to the club! Now you too may have your very own built-in barometer/change of weather gauge.
They don't always get 100% better. I hope Timmy's do; the pounding on them when they weren't fully healed I'm sure didn't help.
Let it get better before you decide to run a marathon. If you're old enough to be D Brown's father, you'd better count on some increased recovery time as well.
Funny you mention that; it's the other ankle that typically gives me problems.
There's no missing time for me, unfortunately. I just got an access card to work from home so I don't have to drive (and so I can take the good drugs!).If I had a more physical job, I'd be on the shelf for a bit. As an accountant, I get to press on.
Watch out with that, you could have a fracture somewhere in that bruise.
Damn Good Luck With That
That picture makes my computer smell.
beat me to the punch
Yeah don't be a Wuss!!!
J/K hope you get better soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Yeah, but it's not like they can do anything about it. Immobilize the ankle, that's about it. There still would be weight on it when you walk, and their are a lot of little bones in your ankle/foot.
A topic that I unfortunately had a lot of experience with.
When i had my ankle injury the bruising was much worse on it and i had severe swelling all the way down to the toes and my leg, i also had bruising in my toes. I know you were at the doctor, but did they check to see if you may have torn ligaments?
The bruising you described is what my foot looks like now. It's black and blue from the tips of my toes to the bottom of my leg.I get to see the specialist on Tuesday. The ER doc said the swelling had to stop first. Right now, it looks like it hasn't stopped swelling. It looks like it was hit with a hammer a few times.
can you put any pressure on your foot? or is the pain unbearable?
Make an appointment with my husband. He can amputate your foot for you and, voila! Problem solved.
When i was hurt amputation sounded great to me if it relieved the pain![]()
If people would follow up with their appointments (since he sees a lot of diabetics) the need for amputation could be avoided.
When i was in the medical magnet in high school, i used to do volunteer work at Northridge Hospital. I was one of the lucky ones who actually got to have hands on experience in the wound care center.
I remember patients with diabetes would have some mean ol cuts on their legs that were real deep, i know many had very poor circulation in their feet due to their condition, and having to clean up the wounds was a lot of fun, but i do remember many patients who did have their foot or leg amputated for not checkin in with their doctor.
Sad situation but most of the time can be avoided.

Sad situation but most of the time can be avoided.Yeah, my diabetic grandpa (who is now deceased) had to have his leg amputated from the knee down because of a wound to the toe that wasn't cleaned up properly.
