Lol, I love the grades!
Danny Green A
A for Absolutely a system player. Without talent around him, Green can be painful to watch. Let us hope the postseason brings plenty of healthy talent.
Tiago Splitter A
A for Also a system player. Without the floor spread, Splitter struggles to operate.
DeJuan Blair A
A for Another injury. It looked like his knee buckled a bit when going up for a transition layup. He was able to return but Blair suffering a knee injury right before the playoffs is terrible timing.
Matt Bonner B
B for his Baby hook in the lane that is becoming pretty darn effective. Bonner has long had that shot in his arsenal but it seems extra accurate the last month or so.
Cory Joseph C
C for Could have been worse. I thought his D on Curry was strong in the first half. The second half ... not so much. Overall, I liked Joseph's tenacity. He played hard and impacted the game in several areas.
Gary Neal F
F for Finally healthy. The bright spot against the Warriors is that Neal looked pretty darn spry. Early in the playoffs, the Spurs will likely need a scorer to emerge in order to give Ginobili and Parker time to get healthy. Hopefully Neal is that man.
Nando De Colo B
B for Better. I hadn't liked his play in recent games but he was better against Golden State. He pushed the action without being sloppy. He also made plays and was a pest of defense. Let us pray this gets him kickstarted.
Aron Baynes D
D for Deceptively a good passer. He's never been known for being a deft passer but Baynes flashed that skill on Monday night. Overall, the Australian didn't play great but he's a lively bigman who has a chance to become something in the future.
Patrick MillsB
B for Better late than never. This was the type of game the Spurs have been hoping to get out of Mills. When he doesn't think and just shoots the ball or uses his speed to his advantage, he's an explosive scorer. It's late in the season but the coaches might remember this if the reserves struggle to score in the playoffs.
Pop A
A for Agreeing completely with resting everyone. The fact that the Spurs played well for a majority of the game is icing on the cake. What does Pop do against Minnesota? Does he try to play everyone in order to get in some sort of rhythm before the playoffs? Does he just rest the key cogs again to avoid injury? I'd probably play everyone -- but it's a difficult call.
Lol, I love the grades!
manu may be back for minne https://twitter.com/JMcDonald_SAEN/s...71726478282752
Glad Neal is finally playing to his potential. Better late than never.
I see no absolutely no reason for Genius Coach to play any of the big 3 plus kawhi. ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD REASON.
These China dolls need to be kept away from the arena, have all sharp objects confiscated from their residence and be put to sleep in a hyperbaric chamber until early Sunday morning.
Even then - one of those china dolls will probably strain a quad in the in shower.
POP - NOW -YOU-CAN -REST THEM!!!!
Funny grades. Only 1 more to go and you covered all 82 games. Great effort.
Neal is starting to look deadly and at least Pop kept him as SG. That helps my blood pressure a lot when he is playing. Shame that Nando or Cory can not do just one thing that makes them the favorite back up. They both show flashes of Defense (advantage CJ), passing (advantage Nando), and running the team offense (meh.).
We all have to recognize that Bonner's shooting % in April is actually decent. That hook did look very effective, as did Blair's mid-range shot. Nice to see the improvement, but let us pray it works in the PO. The team will need extra offense until Manu and Tony get their act together.
Timvp. Grade J for joker
The 2 most playoff-ready guys heading into the season: Duncan, and the 6'2 four headed monster, Gary Joseph De Mills.
Thanks for the grades! I hope Green is practicing shooting the ball into the ocean while he's on the coast. I hope we play the best lineup we've got on Wednesday. Any major injury during the playoffs is no better than a last game injury. Manu breaks his arm in the first game against the Bears, we still aren't going anywhere. Maybe not play like there is no tomorrow, save that for the weekend!

Duncan, patty, Neal the new big 3![]()
Pop might play Tony a bit in the final game. Other then that. It's gonna be reserves playing major minutes.
I'd say Splitt will not play also
This game was somewhat reassuring regarding the level of Spurs bench.
All you're missing are the A's to Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard for all Avoiding injury.
At this point he may as well sit the starters again for the finale.
I'm all for anybody who really wants to play this post-season.
Joseph
Neal
Leonard
Baynes
Duncan
are my starters.
Speaking of Mills... hard to bring the goods when you're buried on the bench behind 4 other guys.
Curry goes off for 35 against Joseph.... who is touted to be the team's best defender by some on the board.... does that mean he averages 50 in the 1st round against a hobbled Parker?
Splitter/Baynes frontcourt wasn't bad...
Neal will go back to playing point once the playoffs start and chucking hero shots. Book it.
Cojo is soft, tbh. He's the most overrated player in Spurstalk history, tbh.
Hope you're wrong, but I fear you're right.![]()
I'd play everyone but not the playoff rotation. So half minutes for the starters. Since the playoffs aren't filled with b2bs like the regular season, there should be plenty of rest to be had.
I thought the purpose of getting Baynes was to always have rim protection on the court. The defense is much better with rim protection.
Baynes was brought over because Pop lost a bet to Brett Brown
Curry's invisible when Kawhi plays, though
