That doesn't indicate anything we didn't already know.
From today's Fort Worth Star Telegram, this might give us an indication of the financial terms of Horry's decision to remain with San Antonio;
"The Mavs offered Robert Horry a three year contract for at least 9 million but Horry decided to return to San Antonio. "We wanted Rob", Mark Cuban said. "We probably wouldn't have played him much during the season, but we could have used to swagger in the playoffs".
Screwing Cuban always brings a smile to my face.
No link because you have to register but you can read the blurb off hoopshype.

When were actual confirmed dollar figures ever discussed in regards to Horry?
And I'm not talking about you coming up with scenarios in your momma's basement in one of your 1252 daily 'posts'.
the thought of him raising his arm in that fruity way only he does... trying to high-five horry as the camera pans towards the mavs bench for a time out... makes me sick.![]()
Yes.
And my mama's basement beats your mama's basement.
Probably, my mom lives in an apartment.
So you share an apartment with your mama. Nice. She must tire of hearing you and TwoManJam go at it.
Cuban was probably as or more interested in keeping Horry from the Spurs as he was signing him for the Mavs.We probably wouldn't have played him much during the season, but we could have used to swagger in the playoffs".
Cuban is like the rich kid next door. If you've got a pretty set of marbles, he's not happy until he goes out and buys a set that are prettier than yours.
Or maybe he's more like the NBA's version of lil' Dan Synder (owner of the Washington Redskins), who every year changes out parts like a madman, trying to buy himself a championship - and every year gets further and further away. I'm glad Big Rob turned him down. Cuban's a jerk off!
Down with the Mavs in '06. The only swagger Cuban will see is the championshiph strut when the Mavs play the Spurs. Can't wait until the Spurs put foot in their ass next season.
If there's any justice the scheduling gods will schedule the Spurs ring ceremony during our first home games vs. Dallas.
Devin Harris, Marquis Daniels and the stiff Podkolzin are crapping up summer league in Vegas so far. Better luck next time Mark.
Y'all gotta realize - Cuban likes having his name out there. And seeings he's not doing right now WRT FA, he's gotta gravy train off of others.
I'm thinking they gave Horry a 3 year deal for like $10-12 million.....
Dear Mr. Cuban,
Horry's priority is to play in a Championship team. You see, he is not satisfied with his 6 rings. He wants to beat Jordan's record. And with Tim Duncan, TP & Manu, he thinks Spurs is capable of doing that again.
Sorry. Try your luck next time around...maybe after 3 yrs?
Respectfully,
Spurs fan![]()
f u c k cuban
Dear Mark, take your ing money you were ing lucky to get before the crash and go yourself. wad.
Cuban is a , that is filthy rich.
My guess is that SA ponyed up with a 3 year offer in the neighborhood of $15M, although it's really a 2 year deal around 10M, with the last year being a buyout. My thinking is that for his last season, Ferry was rewarded for his two years at vet min with a 4.5M one year deal. Why wouldn't they do a better deal for Horry?
It is unfortunate that Dallas has the possiblities to go far but seem to feel the pressure more than most teams. We don't have the leader that the top teams have. Shaq and Duncan are probably the best leaders in the league.
simply put the mavericks arent goin to win a championship as long as
Nowitzki is the leader of ur team, its as simple as that. Dirk is not a winner, and
he never will be. that dumb cuban shouldve accepted that deal for shaq that
included nowitzki
i mean, y would u consider a player like nowitzki untouchable, when in reality
shaq himself wasnt untouchable, along with t-mac(who by the way made dirk
look like stupid in playoffs).
look at 14 of last 15 championships
bulls 6
lakers 3
spurs 3
rockets 2
other then the pistons, which used team play and great defense, each team had
had dominant player , from jordan and bulls, hakeem and rockets, shaq and lakers
duncan and spurs. Dirk just does not belong in that group, and until he does(which
he will never) then the mavericks wont win
Shaq is not the player he once was. You would think all the beating he takes that he would wear out and that did happen this year and he wasn't healthy in the playoffs. Dirk is much younger and Dallas had more trouble with defense anyway. Shaq would not improve that. Dallas was lucky to get out of a hole that they were in the 90's but becoming a champion everything has to be perfect. Dallas was lucky to find Dirk but they need more.
for the moment and probably the next 5 seasons, the teams that can win
will be teams with dominant players (heat and shaq, spurs and duncan, manu.
suns and amare, wolves and garnet even though didnt maket the playoffs this year) and the exception in detroit
Good luck with Garnett. He is not a dominant player even though he is solid. I don't see anything out of Minnesota for a long time. Suns without Joe Johnson won't win either. Spurs and Mavericks are the top 2 teams in my opinion and Houston and Phoenix are right behind. Phoenix might be ahead of Dallas with Joe Johnson.
exactly right!
