No.
T-Mac was only active because both Diaw and Splitter were out. Baynes might have made a case just because of how he was defending Dwight. He might get minutes if we face Memphis, but thats about it
We all saw it in garbage time last night, yet it still makes me wonder if Pop has something up his sleeve. Thoughts?

Not in a close series no. This was the result of our current injuries.
Pop always has something up his sleeve, tbh.
See T- Mac in the game if we get blown out, and Pop throws the white flag early in the 4th quarter. Same with Baynes. Baynes needs a lot of work with catching the ball. His offense is not existent. He could do well though if he played the pick and roll with Parker or Ginobili.
Anyone think T-Mac might be on the team next year?
Doubt it. I don't see any other good match ups for Baynes, as the league is devoid of big men right now. T-Mac is just an insurance policy in case of injuries.
I get the gut feeling that he'll only be on for this ride, such as Glenn Robinson. I also don't think they'll make that many moves this summer to the roster, just like last summer. The only offseason move I envision right now is adding Omri Casspi, most likely to replace T-Mac. Other than that, I think they roll with the same roster again next year, just giving more minutes to Leonard, Baynes, Joseph, and Nando.
If so it would mean we're blowing teams the out. Otherwise no, though I hope Baynes earned a some minutes if we need size (or if Bonner/Blair start sucking)
... 'Cuz Bonner/Blair can't do dat!![]()
Cool. Thanks for the feedback guys.
Probably not, with Stak gone, Bertans and Hanga if ready.
McGrady may end up being Manu insurance. With Pop's propensity to limit the playing time of older players, TMac could fill the Manu role if Manu is injured or vice a versa.
IMO Baynes will be made inactive next series (if Tiago is healthy) and Tmac active. smaller lineups and need perimeter defense. imo
Outside of garbage time, Baynes will pretty much be shelved for the rest of the playoffs barring Memphis advancing. Dude did serve an important purpose in game 4 however.
I thought Jax was meant to be Manu insurance. McGrady is probably as good as Jax or better at this stage.
Idk...I though Tmac looked like he had the ole refrigerator strapped to his back, last nt...if the spurs need to count on him, they're screwed. Baynes on the other hand should be getting minutes anytime the opposing team has multiple big men. If he can defend Dwight, he can defend anyone, in my book...I'd like to see him active through the entire playoffs. I don't like the idea of trying to match gs, and play small ball. I say we use the size as much as we can...imo it's the only way the spurs can win it all..even against Miami the spurs would have a big size advantage, if they used It. It'll be the same ole result if pop tries winning with a small lineup..
GS small ball, we see TMac. Denver with McGee we might see Baynes. I'm impressed on both of them, so I don't mind. And hopefully we keep TMac next couple of years for his play also to mentor Kawhi.
I genuinely hope to see more Baynes on the court this post season. T-Mac hasn't shown a shred of promise yet and couldn't even make anything happen in garbage time against F-League scrubs.
What was TMac suppose to do? Score 30 points in 5 minutes....
I think Baynes should play. He had only limited minutes against Dwight, but held his own. He is a big physical 7 footer which is exactly what this time has lacked for years!!! Pop really should think about giving him some burn.
