My favorite was the one just before tipoff of Game One of the '99 Finals in the Alamodome vs. the Knicks. The Spurs had just swept the Lakers and Portland to get to the Finals.

It was something like:

The Spurs wish to welcome all Knicks fans from NY. We think you will find SA to be a very clean city . . .

We sweep regularly.

The crowd went crazy and the Spurs went crazy too.

I remember those. The city went absolutely nuts that year. Flags on every car -- everyone honking -- it was great.

I was living in Austin at the time. I was downtown for '03 and '05 though. I wish I was there for '99. That will always be the sweetest.

Loved the Mario Elie dunk at the 1:10 mark. I was at that game and right after that dunk NY called timeout and a couple of my friends and I got on Jumbotron with a huge sign we were holding up that said "You can't spell BELIEVE without ELIE". Crowd went nuts when that got put up. Was funny because before the game when my friends were looking for something in the dome to make the sign they ran into Mario's wife/fiancé and were talking to her about how much he meant to the fans (lol I missed her since I liked watching the warmups).
