With the emergence of Tiago and the effectiveness of the Duncan-Splitter pairing, where do you rank the Spurs' starting frontline among the NBA? Playoff teams? What about including Boris and Bonner (I know, but he's been good lately)?

The Spurs for the last few season have routinely had one of the worst froncourt rotations of any playoff team. In two years we have gone from starting the corpse of McDyess next to Duncan with Blair/Bonner logging heavy minutes while RJ stands in the corner to a solid frontline of Duncan/Splitter/Leonard/Diaw.

How do you rate the FO's hand in this? And how do you rate our frontline this season against what's left in the playoffs?

Meaning he has emerged as a consistent force at the C position. He's not flashy but we've come to expect a solid outing from him with good defense. Also he is not constantly hampered by minor injuries as he was the first couple seaons

I rank them #2 , Duncan playing like the best big in the playoffs though.

Gasol and Randolph are being the best frontcourt, at times they switch with eachother as being the second best big man in the playoffs.

    1. Grizzles with Gasol/Randolph
    2. Spurs with Timmy/Tiago
    3. Warriors with Bogut/Lee
    4. Pacers with Hibbert/West
    5. Knicks with Chandler/Amare when he returns
    6. Chicago with Boozer and Noah
    7. Thunder with Perkins and Ibaka
    8. Heat with Bosh and i dont even know who their other big is.

All 8 Teams left have really solid Frontcourts except Miami really. But hey, they have a SF who is out of this en world unfortunately. Obviously Heat and Thunder would be 1 and 2 if i included the SF position and the Knicks would be further up the list also but i just went with PF/C. Each Team left have pretty friggen good starting PF/C combo's.

Plays defense. His offense is just a plus as long as the bench is playing well tbh.

What type of defense, traffic cone. He doesn't rebound or intimidate at the rim. He stands there with his arms extended, that is about it.

He allows Tim to play closer to the basket. You may not want to believe it, but Splitter is the Spurs' best mobile big defender.

    emergence of Tiago?

he played good 5 minutes right before getting injured. He could easily dissapear or never show up this series.

only rankable duo is Duncan + Bonner right now and they are probably around #6 out of remaning playoff teams

I would have the Spurs about 4th tbh. Splitter has regressed from earlier in the season when he was really showing signs of being a solid to good NBA player. Now he is average. I did see some nice things from him against Howard. But it is like I have said, he had to get mad at Howard getting away with murder before he would finally wake up and play with any passion. Of all the playoff teams, we are middle of the pack. You have the Grizz, Bulls, Thunder, even the Pacers are no slouch in front court. Like I said, 4th or 5th.

The Thunder frontline is pretty ty tbh. Perkins is only good when you're going up against the likes of the Lakers or Grizz and Ibaka is overrated as . Collison is a solid big, though.

I dunno man, I wouldn't call them top tier, but I think their front court is solid.

Really dude? Tiago played the entire season and played well, he is one of the main reasons the Spurs are not a joke on defense anymore. Him and Duncan in the paint is legit

Only because of Durant. Perkins is absolute trash, most OKC fans want him gone, and Ibaka is seriously overhyped because of his blocks, he's not that good overall. Perkins/Ibaka/Collison is a solid rotation because of the perimeter power they have.

you said "playoff" teams which means consider this playoffs round 1. Again, Tiago barelly showed up for the latter part of round 1,was outplayed by bonner and injured himself in the process.

I didn't say based on his play in 4 games. I meant his overall body of work compared to the remaining playoff teams, not how he did in relation to them in the first round

Knicks are better. Chandler beasts on the Spurs. only the warriors and Miami are in the Spurs class. Splitter can't jump, can't rebound, can't block shots, doesn't play well unless certain players are in the game, can't score unless the P&R. Splitter is a joke as a big. the Spurs have no depth on the frontline, Bonner, Diaw is not a true big- should play sf, Blair is undersized and some consider them the 2nd best in the playoffs.
