Shaq Wade Jones
Pretty good too
Where would you guys think TP, Manu, and TD rank?
And who do you think can compete with them?
Are we the best trio? Why?
I would say top 3 at least but not sure inside of 3.
Shaq Wade Jones
Pretty good too
Nash, Amare, Marion
It would look something like this to me.
1 Wallace, Wallace, Billups
2 Tony, Tim, Manu
3 Amare, Marion, Nash
4 Shaq, Wade, Jones
5 Oneil, Artest, Jackson
6 Lebron, Hughes, Ilgauskas
7 Ming, McGrady, Sura or Howard
8 Carter, Kidd, Jefferson
9 Anthony, Camby, Martin
10 Nowitzki, Terry, Van Horn or Stackhouse
Best:
Starting 5: Pistons
Starting 4: Suns
Starting 3: Spurs
Starting 2: Miami
Starting 1: Lakers
I agree but I think Carter, Kidd and Jeff should be above the Rockets trio
The rockets trio one any given day can be like number 5 through number 25...I probably ranked them too high.
Didn't quite make it:
Richardson, Davis, Murphy
Allen, Radmonvic, Lewis
Chandler, Curry, Gordon
Most underperforming trios
Webber, Iverson, Mashburn
Garnett, Cassell, Sprewell
Bryant, Odom, Butler
Gorden, a healthy Curry and hinrich are also pretty good...although Gorden is a sub
At first I was like WHAT?!?!
Very clever...![]()
Great list.
besides the houston trio.
I think they are just about the best trio.
When Tim and Manu and Tony are all having a good game, or even just 2 of them, they cannot be stopped.
I know you said trio, but from the 2005 playoffs, here are the top quints....
5-Man Unit Leaders Team Unit +/- W-L
DET Billups-Hamilton-Prince-R.Wallace-B.Wallace +67 14-8

Nice stats!
Looks like Det had the best 5 man team, but look at the record....not as good as the Spurs, and that's all that matters!!!!
Plus, the Spurs are in the top 5 twice with 2 different line-ups...
Why do people say LeBron, Hughes and Illguaskus, when they have not even seen them play with each other?
No idea, but I don't think they are even a top 5 trio.
Lebron is good by himself, Hughes is just good, and Ilgauskas....he's just a big goofy guy. They aren't that big of a trio IMO.
if nash amare and marion were the best trio then its already proven thats false when they played us
parker evened out nash
amare went totally awol
marion was an invisible man...
we won 4-1....
m irving, e smith, t akiman OH NBA
the trio with the rings![]()

And note Barry's presence in the second rotation. That was a complete turnaround from earlier in the playoffs (from a +/- standpoint in the first two series, Barry was poison; I think he alone was a -9 against Seattle). But the combination of having Manu, Barry and Horry on the floor really spread things out offensively against Phoenix and Detroit, and that was the rotation that got things done late in games in the last two rounds.
BEST DUOS
1 Wallace, Wallace, Billups - As individuals, I think they're a little better simply
because Billups >Parker, in strength alone.
1 Tony, Tim, Manu - I think Manu and Duncan have the intangibles that top any of
the big three on the Pistons.
3 Amare, Marion, Nash (Thomas might be the third, too, we'll see)
4 Anthony, Camby, Martin (or would Miller/Boykins be the 3rd)
Best duos:
1 Yao, McGrady
2 Shaq, Wade
3 O'Neal, Jackson
Most underachieving duos
1 Carter, Kidd
2 Kobe, Odom
3 Iverson, Webb
4 Nowitzki, Stackhouse
Hey.. Mashburn never played a match for the Sixers. That's unfair!![]()
Ummm, TD and Manu are better than them.
They all put up about +20ppg, plus Ilgauskas' rebounds, James' Steals and assists, and Hughes' defense. They are defenitely a top 5 trio to me.No idea, but I don't think they are even a top 5 trio.
Lebron is good by himself, Hughes is just good, and Ilgauskas....he's just a big goofy guy. They aren't that big of a trio IMO.
Were we watching the same series?
Nash shouldn't have to guard Parker because Joe Johnson should do that. Thank goodness Bowen isn't an offensive threat or Phoenix would be in real trouble with Nash guarding Bowen. Marion will guard Ginobili and might make a big difference in the series with that matchup. Miami and Phoenix have the best trio.
the one thing that is nice is that the spurs have two guys in their prime and one who is still on his way up. it's also nice that all 3 of them are under 30 years old.
