Huh. Now I know how Wizards fans spend their time during the postseason.
The Spurs took advantage of a weak West, an injured Russell Westbrook, and lucky draws (7-6-5 seeds), to be the worst team to emerge from the West since the 1981 Rockets.
2012 -- Thunder: good team, 3 elite players, beat Lakers and overhyped Spurs team
2011 -- Mavericks: won championship over elite Miami team
2010 -- Lakers: champs, self-explanatory
2009 -- Lakers: see 2010
2008 -- Lakers: great team, lost to greater Boston team
2007 -- Spurs: benefited from #1 seed Dallas losing and questionable suspensions against Phx, but overall decent
2006 -- Mavs: should have won championship but refs intervened
2005 -- Spurs: beat champion Pistons
2004 -- Lakers: 4 Hall-of-Famers
2003 -- Spurs: backed into Finals because of depleted Lakers, injuries to C-Webb, Dirk, but they were a 1 seed
2002 -- Lakers: greatness
2001 -- Lakers: super-greatness
2000 -- Lakers: greatness
1999 -- Spurs: benefited from 50-game season, but had Twin Towers
1998 -- Jazz: peak of Stockton-Malone era
1997 -- Jazz: see 1998
1996 -- Sonics: 64-18 team would have won most years, but ran into 72-10 Bulls
1995 -- Rockets: beat 3, 2, and 1 seeds in order
1994 -- Rockets: won championships, Hakeem was best center of his era
1993 -- Suns: Barkley-led team gave Bulls all they wanted
1992 -- Blazers: ultra-loaded team
1991 -- Lakers: greatness
1990 -- Blazers: see 1992
1989 -- Lakers: greatness despite injury
1988, 87 -- Lakers: greatness
1986 -- Rockets: upset great Lakers team, had original and best Twin Towers
1985, 84, 83, 82 -- Lakers: greatness
1981 -- Rockets: 40-42. I agree this team was worse than the 2013 Spurs.
So the 2013 Spurs are a testament to how far the West has fallen and how lacking it is in depth behind Oklahoma City. The only way Miami doesn't sweep 4-0 is if the Heat get bored.

Yeah and the east is so powerful at the moment..
nice troll job, guy. . .
why is this even a thread? this needs to be locked to stop the stupidity from spreading..

Nine days until Game 1. Plenty of stupidity is bound to ensue in this forum.
lol under .500 Bucks
lol Bulls playing with four players
lol Indiana in the ECF
lol Wizards can't make the playoffs in the past 10 years with some of the weakest teams of all time.
lol the point guard whose name no one remembers and they mix up with Kyle Irving.
John Wall is your future.
Extra Stout forgot to login into his Kool account.
Dang, it must be tough on you this time every month, huh sissy?
Have fun with your lottery again this year lol.
But they're there, and that's all that matters.![]()
You are an idiot. Last year took an off-the-charts effort by Ibaka and Perkins going 21 of 24 primarily on jump shots to including Ibaka going 11 of 11 and one of the worst officiated games in last year's playoffs in game 6 to stop the Spurs from going to the Finals. 2008 the Spurs were clearly better than the Mavs. They shot 50 free throws in game one of that series in San Antonio. Even then it took Manu's brain fart in game 7 to lose. Miami will have no answer for Parker plus Duncan will probably average close to 20 and 15 for the series. Miami may win, but no way they can sweep the Spurs.
The likely Eastern champion won 66 games, including 27 in a row at one point, and features one of the 5 greatest players of all time at his absolute peak.
3 times as the Bullets. I wouldn't expect you to have the intelligence to know that.
John Wall is your future.
This is definitely a Spurs fan. Can't even tell the difference between 2008 and 2006.
What does John Wall have to do with the Spurs' being the worst Western Conference "champion" since the Space Shuttle first launched?
Ok. You compare one team Spurs to its conference to validate the West is weak, then your answer that the East is strong is only the record of one team?
If Miami played in the West they wouldn't have won that many games, everybody knows that... The west is weaker but east still the weakest.
Best part of being a Spurs fan = get to watch the Spurs play in the NBA Finals on June 6
