Its an excellent read. In my opinion it is one of the few trades in recent history that has favored both teams. A lot of people want to point to G Hill playing horribly in Game 1 against the Heat(could be hangover from concussion) BUT in reality he has been HUGE for the Pacers all post season long. He torched the Knicks(ask any of their fans he was a nightmare from 3 land)and the Pacers even fell apart without him on the floor when he went out for a game and a half. He isn't perfect but he is a young, athletic, smart, long and developing. A defensive minded PG with a ton of upside, great for that Indiana squad is nothing to scoff at. We as Spurs fans just know his flaws in and out, such as playing poorly on the road.

Anyway, Is Kahwi a better player? Yes, by far but you have to realize he wouldn't even be close to the player he is today without Pop and the Spurs. Leonard would have had no chance to develop playing behind PG and Granger. He had no jumber coming out of college and you can credit that to SA staff. Who knows what Indiana would have done with him He may have ended up being just another wing. What is your take?

Indiana would not have taken him if there wasn't a trade in place with the Spurs. They needed point guard help and would have likely taken the point guard that they graded highest. None of which would have been equivalent to Hill, so it truly worked out for both teams.

According to article, Kawhi still being on the board made Indy pause about the trade. I think they would have taken him.

Kawhi is definitely not Kawkhi. He's very humble.
