Don Harris is stupid. But if the Spurs had gotten Kidd in his prime, he would have been a stud. Problem was that the Spurs would have gotten a player about to have microfacture surgery on his knee. Parker is having a phenominal season. In fact, the last two he has been spectacular. But don't discount a Kidd in his prime; he was an incredible talent and a future HOF. Kidd at his best versus Parker at his best would have been a tough call for any GM.

Certainly not the dumbest Tony Parker trade idea that's been floated over the last decade.

My favorite was Parker for Biedrins and Azubuike

Glad we kept Parker but yeah, considering Kidd was not a bad idea. CIA Popped was all for it.
Parkers detour from being dedicated and instead hanging around rap pussies cost us tho. 2008-2012 culminating with the glass in eye at a Wrappussy Party
Parker is obviously more focused this year.

I wanted the Parker/Kidd backcourt, to be honest. Parker defending the PG, playing SG on offense. Kidd PG on offense, defending the opposition SG.

    Would of worked, tbh.

Exactly. Was never meant to be Parker or Kidd.
I believe the plan was to keep them both.

Yep. Kidd was an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2003 and the Spurs had the cap space to offer a max deal.

I was all for it, as long as Parker could be retained. He was an up and comer at the time, and having the then best PG around to learn from would greatly benefit him in the long run, as well as the Spurs in the short term. That being said, what was really giving me a hard on then was the thought of having a Karl Malone or a Jermaine O'Neal next to TD.

Yeah, I remember salivating at the semi-realistic idea of.

    Kidd
    Parker
    Bowen
    Duncan
    J O'Neal

That would have been the best defensive team in league history, tbh.

That came close on the heels of Don Harris's fit about the Spurs daring to give Avery Johnson's #6 to some untested Argentinian guard.

Actually, he wasn't turned off. When the Spurs played the Lakers during the west semis, he was thinking about signing with whoever lost the series, and he thought the Lakers would beat the Spurs, so then he was thinking about signing with the Spurs. But since the opposite happened, he went and signed with LA. I read this story probably last year, just couldn't remember from where. Dude would've definitely helped, as he wasn't afraid to lay the wood on opposing players.
