$5,000 fine across the board. No thread about this yet? Must not fit into the "Lebron is untouchable by the league" narrative.

The fine should be larger for those with larger salaries. Would like to see a scale. For example if you make 0-5 million, you get fined $5,000 for the first flop. If you make 5-10 million, it's $15,000. 10-15 million, $25,000, and 15+ million you get fined $40,000. The current fines are hardly a deterrent.

The $5,000 is really more of just a warning. Of course most of these guys aren't going to really worry about dropping 5k (especially if their flop makes a game-changing difference), but it's better than the league just issue a verbal warning or some bull . Where it really starts to matter is if they get hit with three warnings, then suspensions start coming into play. Granted, I don't any player is going to be stupid enough to get to that point, so it's probably a moot point.

Yeah, 5,000 is nothing for LeBron, he's probably laughing about it in a flopping manner

“I don’t need to flop,” James said, according to the Associated Press. “I play an aggressive game. I don’t flop. I’ve never been one of those guys.”

    5 minutes later

"Guys have been accustomed to doing it for years, and it's not even a bad thing. You're just trying to get the advantage. Any way you can get the advantage over an opponent to help your team win, then so be it."

    Exacttly.

Its a warning with a small tab attached to it.

Keep flopping and that tab increases.

I just like how people disregard 5k as nothing to these athteles. Just dont tell Allen Iverson and all those broke ass NBA players that.

A player with a 15 mil salary, assuming he plays 100 games (82 +a finals run) and playing 36 mpg, makes 4.15k per minute. It would be like me paying a 1$ fine or less. NBA

"5k is a lot of money not matter how much you make"? Was that the actual quote? If that's true, the NBA should hook West up with a speech class at the university of his choice.

I disagree with some of the fines.

I thought the Lebron play was a huge flop by Lebron, but West didn't or barely flopped. He was pushed back by Lebron and he went back, he didn't fall on the ground or writhe around in pain or anything like that.

Stephenson seemed to be going back to avoid the forearm/elbow from Allen, I didn't see that as flopping either.
