New logo
The Pistons announced a logo change Monday, a move that will tweak everything from the players' uniform shorts to the tip-off circle.
"There really is no reason for the timing of doing this per se. We just felt it was a good evolution of the Pistons logo," said David Wieme, the team's director of strategic communications. "We think it honors the old and the new of Pistons history."
The Pistons' new main logo has a piece of the old -- the red, white and blue basketball logo -- with now the words Detroit Pistons superimposed on top of it.
That logo will become the Pistons' tip-off circle. The team has not decided what will be done with the old circle pieces. Previous floor reconstruction, especially after championship runs, has led to the court's being divided into pieces and sold for charity.
The horse head that has adorned the uniform shorts since the fashion-blighted teal era also is finally gone.

i thought the logo looked different on draft night.
Do the Pistons change their uniform's on a yearly basis?
I thought maybe the new logo would be:
Pistons (< Spurs)
Sure...feel free to go there as many times as you want.![]()
I am so fired up now.
it doesnt look as good to me.
The primary logo is the same except they added "DETROIT" to it.
The secondary logo sucks. A stupid "P" with a "D" in it? C'mon...you couldn't do better than that?
if that's you thinking that's not true..
it's more of like a

They can change their logo and their uniform, that won't get them any closer to a le. If they lose Brown they are ed. Plain and simple.

Aren't they firing him tomorrow?
Detroit has to be crazy to fire Larry Brown.
I can't see why alot of teams go through soooo many logo changes. I'm glad we're spoiled with the Spurs and their consistency when it comes to all aspects of their organization. Believe me, I despised the Fiesta colors, but to have to update all your gear every couple of years, I'll pass.
We shall see.....
Seems most Pistons fans think he'll be back. I may be one of the few who think the team will find some way to politley say goodbye.
I actually want him gone.
Sure he's a great coach...one of the best. But the drama does take its' toll. And if we keep him, how many games will he miss due to health problems? Will we be hearing media outlets asking LB "aren't you mad you didn't go to Cleveland?" Once they make the playoffs next year? Will we be hearing him say that he's thinking of retiring after next year? Who knows. I say make a clean break now, and move on.
The best thing for the rest of the league (the East, anyway) would be if LB stayed. He'll drag them down next year with all the drama.
On the other hand, if he leaves, and ESPECIALLY if he goes to another team, the Piston players will probably be pissed off and really motivated to show that they can win without him.
So the Mavs are now the sole purveyors of the "My Litte Pony" motif.

The logo is slightly different from the older ones... not by much, but it is definitly modernized. I thought the D inside the P was a bit tacky, but then i realised it was just to go on the shorts and thought it could kind of work fairly well after all... considering it wouldnt be very big!
Personally tho, i kind of liked the horsepower uniform that was there around Grant Hills detroit time...
Flip Saunders.......hmmm
who you rooting for?
because you aren't getting what fans think...that's for sure.
I saw the logo of My Little Pony during the rockets series. I had to admit that was funny.
Okay goofball, you asked for it!
SPA TURDS (not uncommon in Texas)
