My roommate(who was into the Spurs before I was) and I were talking about the Finals when I confirmed that they were on Thursday night. He said he had plans, which I thought he would immediately drop upon hearing the news. He said that he was gonna go to a movie that night(Alamo Drafthouse screening) and that he would just tape it. I understand it's game 1 but missing The NBA Finals? IMO pretty weak as a Spurs fan. Random I know but just thought I'd get other 'fanatics' take on it.

I record all our games. If we loose, I don't watch it lol
Does he realize they've already recorded the movie? Might as well watch the game. Otherwise, he ends up getting them both after the fact.

The only situation where it'd possibly be acceptable is if there was a girl involved that he'd been chasing for months, and that night was the first where he felt like he'd get to her. And he's a virgin. Otherwise, in your mind, you know that his fan card is actually a laminated picture of his vagina.

Seriously, you need strap him down ala Alex in Clockwork Orange, pry open those eyes, get a bottle of visene, and force him to watch some ultraviolence, aka Game 6 of the WCF last year. Unacceptable fandom.
Not really a question, but yeah he sucks.
I would never skip the game to go see a movie. But I do work 3-11pm and will be recording the games and then trying to get home spoiler free.
