Looks like they will be compe ive for the eastern conference again this year.

With all the money Shaq will command, I'm surprised the Heat will have any more left to pay the janitors, much less resign their own free agents.
We should thank our lucky stars every day that our players are so very unselfish in that they value winning more than "getting the maximum dollars" from the market.
Shaq is restructuring his contract/extension and will take a pay cut so they can sign more players.
Is this for real? I doubt that is true

he's going to take a pay cut... maybe deferred salary?Shaq is scheduled to to make $30 million next season, but the Heat would like to re-sign him to a longer contract, potentially five years, that gives them a better chance to sign other players while avoiding a luxury tax hit.
I'm thinking that giving Shaq a five year deal is a deferred salary.
According to ESPN, Shaq and Miami are on the verge on agreeing over new contract extension that might get done by Wednesday (today).
Interesting priorities they have in Miami, considering that they in desperate need of a starting PG.
hey, that haslem kid is gonna be big one day... and besides he gets paid
