I really want to cut my cable TV off but the only reason I don't is for my Spurs, also with dvr I can record the games if I'm at work. The family pretty much lives off Hulu and Netflix. What other way can I watch the games with a solid connection if I cut the cord? I know of some sites that stream the games but they look like crap or are choppy and will just cut off at any moment.

Wish my Xbox had an NBA deal where I could watch live or later for a season fee as I would rather watch on the TV and not the laptop screen.

For finals games, I'd bet any firstrowsports stream would be great quality.

Try League Pass through nba.com. They have an internet only option if you can connect your laptop to your tv.

Nationally broadcasted or local games are blacked out on league pass.

I cut the cord last year. I live in Cincinnati, so I don't have any problem using NBA LP BB to watch the Spurs, but even if I did it's not hard to get around the local games restriction using a VPN on a computer or a location spoofer on a jailbroken iPad/iPhone or Android phone or tablet. I have the same blackout issue with the Cincinnati Reds games and MLB.TV, but I watch most of the games via my paid subscription despite living in the Reds' home market. (And of course, I don't have any trouble watching most of the Rangers' games.) The only Spurs games I have trouble with are TNT games and NBA TV games. Sometimes I can watch the TNT games on TNT Overtime with the weird 4-screen coverage, but NBA TV games would require a trip to a bar. ESPN games I can get on Watch ESPN through my ISP, but that might not be available to everyone.

Very true but you can get a proxy for $5 a month and then you'll have access to International League Pass which shows all the games.

That's what I did this year and it's been badass. Every game for every team, All Star game and festivities, all of the Playoffs and the Finals.

Why would anyone need to pay for the finals if its on ABC?

I was just about to say this. Every game is on ABC. You can get that with an antenna.

I think he's talking about Spurs games in general, not the Finals.

A geeky option would be XBMC with some addons... it has online sports streaming, tv, and movies could get rid of netflix as well..

I might be wrong, but aren't over the air broadcasts for free? Since the Finals are on ABC and not cable you don't need to have cable I don't think.
