    Whoopi, Walters plug Spurs on ABC’s ‘View’

    That’s what I call a game day boost! Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters gave national support to San Antonio’s team on ABC’s daytime hit, “The View,” Thursday.

    Whoopi wore a Spurs jersey while Walters mugged for the cameras in white Spurs sunglasses. Whoopi gave the best plug when she added supportive words to the visuals.





    Sure, Sherri Shepherd also showed up in a Heat jersey, waved her arms and shouted: “Miami’s about to take this baby.” However, Whoopi had the last word: Pointing to her Spurs jersey, she countered: “This team…it’s their time right now.     That's what I thought! I am amazed though at how "cool" the Spurs are right now....weird but refreshing (don't believe in jinxes)

    It actually could be just anti-Heat fans jumping onto the Spurs bandwagon, but sometimes that's how you get fans. You see that in pro wrestling all the time. People hate the heel (Iron Shiek), or the overly pushed guy (Cena), and tend to cheer for the other guy. Some dude comes along and beats them soundly, suddenly they have a big fanbase built on the foundation of loving that the guy (or team) they hate got knocked down a few pegs by the other guys (Spurs).

    I'll take it.
