I don't know how many people saw this show last week but it is hilarious. If you don't know who Carlos Mencia is, you are missing out. The new episode is at 9:30 on Comedy Central. I recommend it for everyone.

I was a fan of Mencia a few years ago.

Now he's too angry and yells too much. I know's he joking and all (I hope at least) but damn, he seems very racist.

With that being said: I am DVRing it and will watch later.

I am still somewhat of a fan. He has gone from being a hilarious storyteller to a comedian on a soapbox ...or crusade to point out humanities differences.

I remember the first time I watched him at Rivercenter Comedy club he was so side-splittingly funny I had to watch the following night. He joked about relationships, sex ...normal everyday things. Now it is all pseudo-social commentary.

Yea, I know exactly what you mean. I'm not much of a fan now. I do want to see what this show is about. My roommate says it 'racist' and not the funniest thing ever.

I have a feeling I'll watch it one time.

I saw him on the campus of Texas A&M Kingsville and he started going off on how Mother Teresa is probably in heaven getting ed in the ass by a bunch of black dudes. That was hilarious. I like the fact that he is so racist and angry, Chris Rock is the same way.

He's on my "not funny" list. Right below Denis Leary.
Just out of curiosity, who is on your "funny" list???

BTW, Denis Leary's No Cure for Cancer is hilarious.

I just finished watching the show, and I wasn't particularly impressed. Some of it was funny, some of it wasn't. Most people can do that much.

Maybe it's just the way I've been brought up, but calling your mom a isn't funny. Neither is showing the vice-president's privates, even through pants. And when the opening note and the ending note of a show aren't good, it's hard to sell whatever is imbetween.

Besides, I'm not too keen on comedians who have to shout to make their jokes funny.

Actually to most people in SA that is pretty special. Why else would they sell out every perfomance they have there?

    Example: Voting in San Antonio.
Not that I'm disputing your point, because I think you hit the nail on the head.

Still, if this is the case, then how the did we get stuck with Hardberger over Castro?

    ....damn old people.

Killing them softly...now that is comedy. I love Chapelle's jokes about the presidents. The baby selling weed in a black neighborhood etc. Mind of Mencia......I dunno I watched 10 mintues of it he didn't have that much content except race and his jokes got pretty boring.

I swear he has to have a backup laugh-track rigged up somewhere, because half the this guy says is downright un-funny, and it still gets laughs and applause.

They're probably paying the audience. Hopefully more than they are paying him.

David Cross is probably at the top.

The loud-mouthed angry guy routine is played. Lewis Black can still get away with it though.
What's funny is David Cross is the least bit loud when doing stand up.

Sure he's angry, but most comics are.

    Who?

    Chris Rock? Lopez? Mencia?

I watched this one guy (white) on Comedy Central.

He said he calls all his friends cracka's and they don't use the term cracker.

And that they don't let black people call them cracka's.

    It was some funny .

I"m into comedy that isn"t rooted from race.

I saw Carlos at Rivercenter Comedy Club the last time he was in town and he was hilarious. He is the edgier version of George Lopez. I havent gotten to watch the show due to scheduling issues on Wed nights but I'm sure he's being restrained in some ways on content. Watch his live show and then hate.

i saw some of his last show and it was on the border of funny and boring

he seems to get too riled up over little stuff....that stuff irks me too but he just reacts weird....does he normally use a lot of cuss words? maybe censorhip has taken away from his act

What everybody is describing is not what I've seen in his live shows at the Rivercenter. He doesn't just stick with the normal mexican cliche, he hits on everybody and he doesn't really shout. He's very educated, but not in the college since, self tought. He's one of my favorite comedians.

I wouldn't judge him on this show where they probably edit and tone down what he's really like. Nacho is right, judge him after you see him live.

When he first started out I thought he was pretty funny....now I don't really find him funny at all...he changed something....now he seems like he's ripping off Lewis Black a little too much with the angry screaming...if you don't know who Lewis Black is...watch him and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about...he's the guy that makes appearances on the John Stewart Show...

P.S. I also think they just gave him his own show to fill the void caused by the Chapelle Show being on hiatus...notice how all of sudden Norm McDonald had his own show for a while...now him...

Isn't Lewis Black just a rip off of Sam Kinison?
