Kidd has been talking with associates about the possibility of making the immediate leap from a Hall of Fame playing career to a head coaching job, and has been working to identify a staff of assistant coaches who could help him overcome the significant learning curve, sources said.
Kidd will retire from coaching by the all-star break.
Should resurrect the player-coach, tbh.
Nah, he'd just fake a migraine and disappear, tbh....
Too quick for him to go for a coaching job.
doesn't even want to start at a mid level job, damn.
if there's a franchise that deserves a bad coach, Nets are certainly one of them
Kidd: Time out
Kidd in huddled: I'm bring the ball down....
Team: But..but you can't get on the court.
Kidd: *puzzled*
Kidd: OK I'm inbound the ball instead.

He's already a better coach than 50% current NBA head coaches. He was the coach-on-court during his 2nd tenure with us mavs. He was slow as but you still had to play him 38 minutes a game for his leadership and influence
It's not like there are a ton of great coaches available, might as well take a chance.
I think Kidd could make a great coach.
Actually doesn't sound like a bad idea if true - Kidd has the basketball IQ to be a coach, and he'd have one of the all-time greatest coaches by his side to show him the ropes, tbh....
Coaching is more than just x's and o's. Kidd would make a good coach but he needs to learn the ropes first.
