Truthfully, I don't think so.
This was a fluke win and Pop helped contribute to the loss.
Neal also did not play, nor shoot that well.
TURNOVERS killed us. Heat won't get that type of defensive help when the crowd isn't fueling the scrubs' momentum.
I think what happened tonight will be what happens for the remainder of the series, they won't all be blowouts but the Heat showed just how good they are when they turn the defensive pressure on. Shades of the Lakers back in the Phil Jackson era, you think you have them were you want them and then just out like that they can take your confidence away from you w/o warning. I think Parker will struggle the remainder of the Finals IMO, there is no guarantee that Green and Neal will shoot the light outs like that again, and we all know that Bonner isn't showing up against the Heat.
My 2 cents.

Only if Spurs let them win Game 3
A 19 point victory where the Heat lead by more than 25 points at one point is not a fluke, that's how good the Heat are when they are motivated. If anything you'd have to think that the Heat let Game 1 slip away, they actually led for most of that game.
Hopefully no.
But when teams turn the corner on defending Parker in the playoffs, it can go south pretty quick.
Sure it can, they can lose the next 3 games.
I truly think that Heat will successfully lock Parker down for the rest of the series if the game is close in the 4th. Pretty much a repeat of last years WCF likely coming up.
No. The Heat won't roll back over and go to sleep, but the Spurs also won't play like that again.
I hate the Spurs losing, but historically speaking, outside of the 2001 WCF meltdown against LAL, the Spurs tend to win series in which they suffer a blowout loss, FWIW.
Nope. Can't get worse than that...
No. The Heat played like a team that didn't want to go down 2-0 going back to SA. The problem nowadays is that everyone overreacts to one game in the postseason.
Spurs win game one-- "That's it the series is over."
Heat win game two-- " you Pop. We're not going to win another game in this series."
If Pop keep playing small ball/Neal
^ this, tbh
losing tonight means if the Spurs win the championship, they will win it in MIA.
Spurs will bounce back, take next game, and 2 of 3 in SA, go back to MIA up 3-2, with 2 chances to close.
Fair-weather Spurs fans at it again.
Some of it was Miami of course but we did the most damage to ourselves. Some very important people didn't show up tonight. I expect these things to be corrected.
Overreact much? Yes the Heat can explode like this. Yes you can't get sloppy against them. But for 6.75 quarters, we pretty much controlled the tempo. Our team had a 2 minute mental lapse at the end of the third where the Heat got away from them and the crowd went into a frenzy. At that point, the desperation of the situation for the Heat vs our satisfaction over already getting one started contributing.
It's not like the HEat dominated us all game....it was a freakin 5 minute stretch where we sucked. I see no reason why this series won't play out like the first 80 minutes of this series. Back and forth basketball.
Eh, not sure. I don't expect the role players to shoot so well from three. I am worried though that Miami found their second wind and won't tired out. I expect the big three to play better though. Most important, Pop needs to focus on defense, and he needs to do that by keeping Neal on the bench. Cory Joseph was +12 tonight, sure he played in garbage time, but he played in the 3rd quarter and helped the team come back. We need Joseph to take Neal's minutes and to stick on Ray or Miller camping out on the perimeter.
Not at all.
The Spurs have responded to bad losses. They have 3 chances at home with the series tied.
It takes actually facing a huge Heat run to learn how to prevent one. The Heat could still very much win the rest of the games, but it won't be any worse than this.
