Why does he have to be American?
I'm pulling for splitter to do good but I'm just don't know if he's gonna make it happen for us. Blair would have been good but his height just isn't gonna work for us. Anyone else agree that it's time we draft ourselves a big badass UNITED STATES OF AMERICAN that isn't afraid to bully opponents in the paint? I think it's time. Timmy's been the man to fill this role for the longest time, but with his age becoming a factor it's time we give him a player to groom to take his place, because I just don't know if splitter is up to the task, as much as I'd hate to say it.
Why does he have to be American?
not a typical euro softie
We have yet to have a big euro center/pf that can consistently bully the paint.
Find a way to trade for DeMarcus Cousins and be done with it. Pop can get that kid's head on straight and he's gonna be a beast. He had 36 pts and 22 boards in the last game of the season and he is only 22. His potential is off the charts. A Leonard/Cousins duo would be a of a duo to build around for a very long time and both of them are barely in their 20's.
Hes too much of a head case. I bet he has more upside than Dwight Howard but with his at ude I don't want him on this team.
Spurs need to try and move up in the June NBA draft in order to secure a better quality big. Perhaps R.C. and Danny Ferry can work something out.
Sacramento isn't trading Cousins for pennies on the dollar which is all we would have to offer unless we threw in Kawhi which would be re ed on our part..
Yes because thos guys go for cheap and are plentiful in the draft![]()
I wouldn't count on that happening but damn that sure would be nice
He's not a USAer, but I would love to have Nik Pekovic in silver and black. He's an RFA but I'd expect Minn to match.
I want me some 'murcans
Splitter is a fine player, he's just not right for this series. Splitter/Duncan combo worked very well on the western teams with big front lines.
We need to have another big ready for the job if splitter isn't going to be a good match up
I was just thinking about him being a solution to some of our problems last night. I don't know how realistic of an acquisition it would be, but I'd love it.
Is he a young guy that we can still mold into a spurs type player?
I wish but they'll just move up and draft some euro no name to stash away again.
Are there any stand-out bigs that would be in our range this upcoming draft?
(By "in our range" I'm referring to a big we could either draft at our draft sport, or a big we could trade up for without giving up a whole lot.)
Baynes is the most likely imrpovement we will see at the big for and NBA newbie. Guy has an effective midrange jump shot so he may be better than most expect.
I think the Spurs are done with Splitter. It just has not been the right fit for him or the Spurs. I do think right or wrong the Spurs will make a run at Jefferson. He fits the character mode, and Pop will figure out a way to protect his defensive weaknesses.
Splitter could be fine if he would just play with more authority.
There's a pill for that.
The guy doing the commentary is ing re ed. Hope it's not you.
I hope we can find a way to trade up for Rudy Gobert.
From what I saw vs Dwight in round 1, Baynes is probably the strongest guy in the NBA and uses it. I really wouldn't mind seeing what he can do, left to just enforce in the paint / clean up the boards.
