Games 4 and 5 - both at San Antonio - were separated by three days, while Games 5 and 6 - one at San Antonio and one in Miami - are separated by only two days.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the San Antonio games take place only two days apart and have three days between Game 5 in San Antonio and Game 6 in Miami?

Did the same thing between Game 2 (Sun 9 Jun @MIA) and Game 3 (Tue 11 Jun @SA). Pretty stupid planning by the NBA, and if it's "always Tues Thu Sun" then they need to change.

The Finals used to also be Wed/Fri/Sun. Games one and two in one city Wed/Fri, then hustle to the other city for game 3 on Sun...then three days off until game four on Wed.

    That was a dumb schedule.

It's not like they had to walk to Florida.

They're under contract to have a Sunday game, or at least that's what came up when people were talking about the Grizz series.

Yes, but given that it's an even shorter trek from the hotel in San Antonio to the AT&T Center, it still doesn't make much sense.

The three day break is for TV ratings, not convenience. They don't want to play on Saturday because ratings suck.
