"About free agency, Dwight said: "This is my chance to choose my own destiny instead of letting ... someone else choose it. So I'm going to really sit down and think about what is best for me as far as basketball and what is going to make me happy. "I will sit down with these teams and hear what they have to say, see if their plans and my plans fit and go with the best option that will help my game expand, and get to where I want to get to. ... "There's nothing one team can say to sway me away from another team. It's just going to be what's best for me basketball-wise. That's how I'm going to approach it."Sulia"

This is not a guy looking to go to a) a team that can pay him a few extra million, b) marginal coaching, c) a team that can't win the le next year

    http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/dwight_howard

(still take Iguodola/West though as a backup)

I think the Lakers can kiss him goodbye, that team is going nowhere. If he does resign with the Lakers, we will know everything he said above is bogus.

Can you see Dwight Howard going to a team in a small market for "basketball reasons?"

If so, please check my wealth creation website at www. . .

Now we wait to see if Spurs are a team he sits down with. We all know Howard to the Spurs makes perfect sense but just don't want to get our hopes up, I get it.

I think, because of the magnitude of the player and the possibilities within, the Spurs should approach him and talk to him about our program, the posibiliti of sharing Duncan and Ginobilis last years, and a team fully loadded to go and try and win now with him on board.
That said, if the guys starts doubting us, forget it and move on. But it would be idiotic to not try and recruit him.

The Mavs and Rockets are going nowhere fast. They're both historically loser franchises. Rockets play zero defense and adding Howard wont help them. And besides Dirk who do the Mavs have? This is it for Dwight. If he really wants a ring he needs to come to San Antonio.

This means the last team to talk to him will get him to sign. As long as LA gets the final say, he will stay in lA.

Lakers make no sense for Howard. Kobe is old and coming off an injury, while they barely made the playoffs with him healthy. Their payroll is terrible they are hopeless next year and about to be in a major post-Kobe rebuild. Howard would get to play with Duncan for two years most likely, and TP/Leonard longer than that. If he truly wants to win now, S.A. is the only place that makes sense.

Good point. You for got to mention Danny Green. He would space the floor for Dwight Howard big time.

Would rather talk about howard than some 13th pick or a top 5 with potential that hasn't done anything.

Plus we were reportedly listed as a team he would consider. If true that means he thought about coming here.

If Dwight is serious as he appears to be, than of all the teams with potential cap space, we would be the best basketball wise team to side with.

We were just in the finals. And we have all the shooters in place to surround him. He's got the greatest pf of all time to learn from, and a hof coach that can extract the most with his talent. Plus chip to wor.k on his ft, small market to focus on basketball.

If I've thought this than patfo has much more selling points that make basketball sense. Like getting to the finals, just getting in the room alone would be big.

If Orlando could make the finals with him we could.

I don't know where he is playing next year but going back to the Lakers makes little sense unless he just wants to cash in. He and Kobe hate each other and D'antonio could not coach a team of little leaguers to a le..
