Ask Capt. Bringdown
im pretty sure i wont be buying any gems.
im thinking of going out to tiger temple and taking a chuck norris pic with all of the sedated tigers. also looking into renting some dune buggys and checking out the countryside. i have a lady friend meeting me there so i wont have to deal with lady boys. i heard they have tranny gangs that jump single males on the streets. apparently if you get caught with pot it's punishable by death.
it's a pretty awesome country if you know your way through. it's low season right now, so im getting everything dirt cheap. the full moon parties are supposed to be a trip. they serve buckets of redbull punch that is a toss up of what's actually in there. from what i hear it's what mexico was like 10-15 years ago.
anyone actually been there on vacation?
all I kno is, medical procedures are very cheap in Thailand. I know of a couple there right now getting dental work done. enjoy ur trip![]()
makes me miss Guam so much![]()
Thailand huh? Phuket, huh?
60 years ago I was stationed in Thailand. A young boy fresh out of high school. I enlisted so that I could see the world. I was tired of living under daddy's roof and abiding by his rules. I wanted to know what it was like to be my own man. Who knew that the lessons I would learn in the Navy would impact me so greatly?
When we first arrived to Thailand my CO told me to take two days of r and r. We had been out to sea for quite some time and who was I to argue? My buddies Frank "the footlong" Donovan and Jimmy "Two Times" Calvecchio had already been to Thailand and wanted to show me the ropes. When we got into town they took me to Madame Bussaba's pleasure house. I'll admit that I was nervous but no way I was going to let them know.
We walked in and Perry Como was singing something about stars in your eyes and boy were they in mine. Before I had the chance to pick one of the ladies out, the most gorgeous looking woman I had ever seen walked up and took my hand. As she talked I couldn't help but stare at her neck and watch her adam's apple move up and down as she spoke a language I had never heard before.
To make a long story short, that was my first ever rusty trombone. I hope to be on the receiving end of that one day. After 35 year, I still haven't convinced Judy.
Ladies and gentlemen... My Avante impression. I hope you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful rest of your night and be careful on your drive home.

have a safe trip, fam. take a lot of pictures for ya boy.
Every friend I've known who visits Thailand says you can rent an elephant to ride instead of a car.
Ask for a soapy when you get off the plane.
It's the low season now because it's the rainy season. Which can be kind of a drag if you're planning a beach holiday.
Dune buggies aren't useful for exploring the countryside - rental cars or motocycles are. No such thing as tranny gangs - if you pursue that road, it'll be by your choice/preference. It's always wise to avoid illegal drugs while overseas IMO. No death penalty, but shakedowns do occur. Especially at full moon parties, which are for wankers.
Phuket is full on and overdeveloped. I prefer Krabi and further south, Trang.
But all told, it's not a matter of "knowing your way," Thailand is not difficult.
Just get on with it and have fun.
I heard you can get a nice lady and a lobster dinner for about $3.00...
good to know. ive heard great things about krabi. im going during the low season because it's so damn cheap right now but still 30 celsius. ill pretty much show up and see what's going on and go from there.
All ways the best way, imo. Blaze your own trail. Rock on.
ko phi phi and krabi are amazing during the low season without all of the annoying americans around.
i feel safer here than in australia. great diving and everything is so chill. thai green curry is some of the best food ive ever had. i would recommend southern thailand to anyone, except you guys because yall would ruin it imo tbh fwiw.
youre right Capt Bringdown, everything is so easy to get around, and surprisingly clean. thai people are pretty badass in general.
only thing im bummed out about is most of the smaller shops carry the same commercialized products...nothing really authentic...and there is alot of indian influence here.

Why was he called Jimmy "Two Times"?
Because he said the last word of every sentence two times. It was a riot every time Sarge would get in his face and talk to him. Sarge was a prick sometimes because he knew that Jimmy couldn't help it. Still, every time Jimmy would answer him he would say "Sir Yes, sir sir." and Sarge would say "Do you see two of me, boy?! Do you need your vision checked? If there were two of me I would be in one ear and the other incredibly handsome gentleman would be in your other ear telling you how stupid you are!!"
The funny thing is, after they left the military Sarge was the best man in Jimmy's wedding.
The caddies are great on the golf courses??? They will find your balls in the rough like no other caddie ...Really!!!!
Try and stay away from the high mileage stuff at the bars especially Pat Pongs in Bangkok... Make sure and get yourself a 4/5 star hotel and ask the consignor to take you to a family home that has the young stuff and low mileage girls that are readily available over there . The girls you pick-up is for 24 hours and then you return her back to the house where she was picked up . All they will eat is rice and pork during this 24 hour period in between your activities .
The name brand apparel on the street can be haggled for a lower price that what they initially show you ...A good suit can be made in 24 hours during your stay also. Try and keep away from the local water if you can ....last thing you want is a case of GI blues. I have walked the streets all nite long and never had a problem with the locals so just be careful and use common sense
Enjoy and do not bring anything home with you that you can not wash off
If you're stopping by Bangkok, go to Lumpini Stadium to watch some fights.
you get alot of roided up idiots now at these tourist destinations cause back home has gotten to expensive to party.....they fck it up for everyone, but local thais/asians dont care as long you bring that green knotes
