    A lot of good info.

-They had LJC rated as a top 20 pick.

-It doesn't exactly sound like he was given a promise.

-They liked LJC before the Nike Hoops Summit.

-He admitted that Tony Parker owning that team played a role.

-As expected, it doesn't sound like LJC is coming over the year.

-The most surprising aspect was his excitement for DeShaun Thomas. It sounds like the Spurs genuinely like him.

-RC said LJC and NPN (No Phone Number) both play multiple positions so they must like them both as small forward and power forward.

All in all, RC looks happy ... and that's a good sign. He knows what he's doing during drafts, tbh.

Jean Charles coming over now would be setting him up for failure, he needs work but he's moldable. Thomas is NBA ready for the stand point that he can shoot and he can rebound for his position. He'll be a bench scorer if he earns a spot.

I just hope RC is right about this No Phone Number guy, that he is a scorer & helps out our bench production.

He was a scorer at Ohio State.. can't fake that.. he's a lefty with a nice stroke, a little y but need that from a bench guy who needs to score to stay on the floor.

Goddammit I really hope they're not just trolling Thomas. He's a good player. Didn't like RC saying that "Historically a player drafted at #58 is not successful", and "there's not one particular thing he does well, or else he wouldn't have fallen to #58." At least he said that they were surprised he fell to them. I really hope he gets a shot. I think he could be a good back-up for Kawhi.

Nah, not trolling. They worked him out, they saw something in him.

I think Thomas looks like he's going to be a Blair-like presence. Come off the bench, have energy, provide a scoring punch. Even though Thomas is pegged as a poor defender at least he's not so blatantly undersized at his position like Blair is.

RC saying that having more cap space was part of the reason why they pick a draft and stash player is interesting.

Now, what would be really telling of Spurs intention this summer is what will happen with Bonner. Best case would be Spurs convincing to push back his deadline by a couple of weeks and then amnesty him. In that case Spurs would have $19.3M in cap space which is quite a lot.

How does pushing the deadline back affect the cap room we save?

It doesn't. It just gives us more time to weigh our options.

If Spurs don't push the deadline they have basically 4 options with Bonner:
    - Trade him.
    - Keep him which would cost $4M to Spurs and eat $4M in cap space.
    - Cut him before July 1st which would cost Spurs $1M and eat $1M in cap space.
    - Amnesty him in July which would cost Spurs $4M (if he isn't claimed) and eat $0M in cap space.

Now, if Spurs push back his guaranteed deadline by a couple of weeks, they will be able to amnesty Bonner, which would fully clear his contract from the salary cap while only having to pay the guaranteed part of his contract.

Bonner has to agree with the deadline being push back but Spurs can give him a little incentive to do so like a better payment schedule of the guaranteed part of his contract and/or increasing that guaranteed part.
