now that he draft is over it seems FA is where we are going to look to be more active. although i believe thomas can stay as a backup for kawhi. his 3 point shooting is something the spurs are always looking for.

so here is 3 i hope we go after:

SG-Tyreke Evans: he is restricted. we offer him 7/8 million. then offer sacramento the rights to adam hanga, bonner and de colo to trade for him. sacramento will be looking to get rid of him with maclemore being drafted there. with ginobli really declining this kid is the new age version of manu. can create his own shot or drive and dish to open for others. much like manu did in his prime. Evans is only 23 years old too. can become our 6th man off the bench.

PF/C- al jefferson: I know some aren't high on him because of his defense. but he comes in and takes the scoring load off duncan down low and allows duncan to focus on defense at this point in his career. starting these two next to each other would look good too. his defense isn't any worse than splitters as well.

PF- earl clark: replaces bonner as our stretch 4. brings more length, height, and athleticism than bonner did though. is also only 25.

Manu ginobli comes back on a reduced salary and a reduced role. really comes back to teach evans how to be a ginobli type 6th man off the bench.

    Roster:

    PG- parker, cojo, mills
    SG- green, evans, ginobli
    SF- kawhi, thomas, ginobli
    PF- jefferson, diaw, clark
    C- duncan, baynes

Not a bad idea. I would prefer Jarrett Jack instead of Mills and CoJO TBH. Now would we be able to afford that dream roster? Probably not. I mean unless they all pulled a Ray Allen by taking less money to win a championship.

I would love to see Tyreke Evans in silver in black. We know the spurs are never big in free agency though. What about Tony Allen or JJ Red ?

no on tony allen. lukewarm on red . i see him as an improvement to Neal, but nothing that will make a huge difference on our team. plus, he's going to want to get paid way more than Neal

PF/C- al jefferson: I know some aren't high on him because of his defense
the way i see it, if chris bosh can figure out how to protect the rim (i.e. these past finals) why can't Big Al? They say you can't teach defense but Bosh went from a pretty soft player to blocking shots left and right all of a sudden in this past series

his defense isn't any worse than splitters as well.
splitter's not a bad defender. he's not a flashy swat the ball out of bounds big but he holds his own just fine. he only really plays soft on the offensive end. he's better than al jefferson on d.

all in all i'm not against trying for al jefferson. even if he's not the greatest defender, he's a pretty big body down there in the paint

i know its 110% not happening, but if JR smith came to the Spurs DMC would return to the forum to talk about how much of a chucker he is

splitter is a better on ball defender. I was thinking more of rim protector. Neither is outstanding at this.
