Before putting the league charter and rules do ent down in writing, I want us to clear up some of the important points.

    (1) First up, trading. How do you want controversial trades (trades that reek of collusion) handled? Honestly, I'm in favor of having the final say-so myself; it is for situations like this that leagues even have a commish. That said, a simple majority can set the rules such that a trade can be overturned by a 6 out of 10 vote (the two principles involved in the trade do not get to vote).

Personally, as commish, I'd be reluctant to overturn any trade unless it was blatant foul-play. In other words, zero-tolerance for collusion, but I'll allow stupidity (within reason).

If we opt for 6 out of 10 to veto, that's cool with me too. Less for me to concern myself with as commish.

    (2) Weekly/Bi-Weekly prizes: Perhaps I assume too much, but I think the majority favors 14x100 dollar payouts vs. 7x200. I also assume everyone is cool with the 1000,400,125,75 breakdown on playoff prizes.

    (3) Scoring - yardage - I like rushing and receiving set at the standard of 1 point per 10 yards; passing at 1 point per 40 yards; all TDs = 6 points.

    (4) No points for reception. Personally, I like 1 point per reception, but that was roundly rejected last year. Anyone want to speak up on this?

Speak up and speak loudly on this. If I've said it once I've said it one thousand times, by and large, I don't care what settings we use, so long as they are agreed upon and locked before we draft.

Apologies for not having a formal do ent drafted, but if we come to a consensus on all this, the do ent will fall into place very quickly.

    Adios.

Having thought about it for a few minutes, I think I'm in favor of 6 out of 10 overturning a trade, for this season, especially in light of the fact we have newcomers to the league taking a leap of faith with their $250. Perhaps next year once we are all more familiar with another that responsibility can be turned back over to the commissioner.

    Here's to no bad trades.

I agree w/a majority vote & no collusion tolerated.

I agree w/a $100 every week payout for the highest scoring team.
If there is a tie what would be the tiebreaker(s) again?

    I agree w/the 1pt for 10yds rush/rcv & 6 pts for TD.

Pts for reception. I would/could roll with whatever.

That was the "perfect" reply Mr. Dio.

Everyone else, please follow suit with your best Joe "Just the facts" Friday imitation.

Regarding ties, I say take the high scorer on the bench and drill down until the tie is broken.

No PPR. I agree with everything else. What about my proposed hike in negative points for missed fgs in the original discussion?

    1-20 miss (-4)
    21-30 miss (-3)
    31-40 miss (-2)
    41+ miss (-1)
    Field Goals Made:
    00-39 yards = 3 points
    40-49 yards = 4 points
    50-59 yards = 5 points
    >> 60 yards = 6 points

    Field Goals Missed:
    10-19 yards = (-2) points
    20-29 yards = (-1) point
I'm in favor of the current league settings.

I agree, I'm not in favor of getting penalized for missed field goals from over 30.

In the opening extended version of the rules (in this topic) there is 1 point for 40 yards passing, but in the original rules it is 1 point for 30 yards passing. I vote for 30 yards passing. Also, rushing for a 2 point conversion is = to 0 points. I lobby for 2 points a conversion or at least 1 point. On the topic of rushing, I noticed RBs receive .67 points per 10 yards and WR receive .80 per 10 yards. I would like RBs to get the same amount of points. Fourth, WRs have (-2) for fumbles lost but RBs have nothing denoted. I think they should have (-2) points also for a fumble lost. Last, on the missed field goals subject, I still would like to appeal to other members of the league to see if they are interested. Does it take a majority vote to get a rule implemented?

If so, and a majority does not support my proposed points, I would like to submit the following.

    1-19 yard fg missed (-3)
    20-29 yard fg missed (-2)
    30-49 yard fg missed (-1)

I don't like negative points for FG's in the 40's at all. I would deal for -1 in the 30's, but not 40's.

Regarding rushing and receiving yards, I want simplicity.

    100 yards rushing = 10 points; 100 yards receiving = 10 points

Do ent arriving in a neighborhood near you soon.

I stilll favor generic scoring for kickers, simply because I do not want to factor kickers into my pre-draft analysis. I'm biased.

  15. #15
I think that's too much for WRs and RBs. I vote for 8 points per 100 yards.

OK, for simplicity the above is OK.

I've taken away the NEG point for missed FG over 39yds.
I could go with the GoN suggestion as well or the below points.

    1-19 yard fg missed (-3)
    20-29 yard fg missed (-2)
    30-39 yard fg missed (-1)

    Hola folks.

I detest drudgery, hence no "final" league settings do ent. Actually, I was hoping to see more feedback on the "setting the settings," but it appears everyone is like me - just want to know what they are and lock them down before the draft.

I will go with the aforementioned "6 out of 10" can veto a trade. I don't really like it, but it seems to safest route to go in light of the fact we all don't really know each other yet. I'll want to kick around alternatives next year.

Regarding points per yards for receiving and rushing, Kris and I seemed to pitted against one another here - he wants 8 points per 100, I want 10 points per 100. I want more feedback on this.

Who needs an invite from FoxSports to join the league?

I noticed some of my concerns did not reach the table, so I'll quote myself. As far as the field goals, I propose this alteration:

    1-19 yard fg missed (-4)
    20-29 yard fg missed (-3)
    30-39 yard fg missed (-2)

Let me explain my thinking behind the missed fgs. 1) I like the idea of negative points since it gives a team behind in the count a chance to comeback. 2) These bumped field goal (-) points give a little more importance to having a good kicker. 3) 1-19 yard field goals are rarely attempted.

Any more opinions on the points per 100 yards for rushers and receivers?

Yes on the majority vote, but does this mean we're going to have to vote on every trade or will a complaint have to be lodged?

    Yes to weekly payouts.

Mr. Dio's FG plan works for me, and I agree on the 8 points for 100 yards.

I agree on the 8 points for 100 yards.
You know, someone else might draft Peyton this year.

My math is VERY BAD, but I think you make it and-1 for 8 points per 100 yards; Don't ask me how I break the tie on this, if it comes down to it.
