Where in the link you provided shows that they actually bought out his contract? The article you sourced is dated 10 Jul 2013. Here's the snippet:

The sides agreed to a one-year, veteran minimum deal worth approximately $1 million. L.A. must first negotiate a buyout with Farmar's club in Turkey, Anadolu Efes, which is believed to be in the $500,000 range. The buyout does not count against the salary cap, an important detail to the luxury tax-laden Lakers.
Unless you heard it out there in LA on the radio?

Edit: NVM. Found this on LG:

@MikedupRadiocom: Source: Jordan Farmar has been bought out of his contract in Turkey, he left $7.7M on the table according to his agent. #Lakers

@MikedupRadiocom: Tolga Tugslav, Jordan Farmar's agent lost $770k due to the buyout. He's not very happy to say the least.
Now, I'm happy. Welcome back JF.

    Vuj is next, right?

Remember? He made the free throws, then the timeout, then Vuj vehemently dedicating them to Kobe, and Kobe, God bless him, not quite right enough to accept it the manner in which it was given, but, that's okay. It was a great night, boys. Over 3 years now, but, in some ways just yesterday once more.

Does this mean Steve Blake is traded? There's no point having 3 point Guards

    And his career comes full-circle...
I used to manage a nightclub for a few years and the Club Owner knew Jordan Farmar and Shannon Brown's agent. So they would have "Laker' events with these rejected bench players. Shannon was a class act, all the girls were excited for that guy. But when Farmar came one night some happened I'll never forget. Our valet people asked me to come outside and they had a problem with Farmar, he didn't want to pay the $5 to leave.

I went outside and he told me,"I'm the main guest here for the event, why the would I pay $5 to leave?!" I told him it's fine I'll spot him but this isn't a charity event, they paid Jordan Farmar and his manager 40% of what the bar made that night, approximately $18k to make a 2 hour appearance. Guy was a full blown head. We're talking about $5!!!

There were alot of events like that, turns out celebs like to show up to clubs, make a cool $10-$40k and stop at a few clubs and rack up on about $40k a weekend. It amazes me how many people want to party in the presence of their favorite singer and athlete only to be pissed when they show up at 1:00 am for only an hour and wave and say thank you all for coming and just leave.

Fartmar has never been Laker material. I thought I was rid of his sorry ass for life.

Not surprised. His ego was alaways bigger than his talent. He has some skills. But he ALWAYS thought he was better thanhe is at TAFT, UCLA and LAkers.

these guys are pro athletes, every single one of them has a big ego.. no surprise, we dont judge them on that, we judge them solely on what they bring to the team, and how they perform on the court. Everything else is a moot point.
