Chris Kaman Hopes to Play at All-Star Level Again With the Lakers

No one expects much out of Chris Kaman now that he’s been brought in by the Los Angeles Lakers to replace Dwight Howard. Well, no one but Kaman, that is. The big fella hopes to regain his All-Star form next season. Per the LA Times: “Kaman, 31, will evoke laughs from reporters and fans next season after signing a one-year, $3.2-million deal to join the Lakers.
He made his only All-Star team in 2010, averaging 18.5 points and 9.3 rebounds that season and hopes to climb back to that statistical al ude.

‘I feel confident that I can be at that level,’ Kaman said. ‘Whether I’m an All-Star or not, I can’t say.’ After spending so many years in the same city as Kobe Bryant (eight seasons with the Clippers), Kaman is curious about him.

‘You always hear a lot about how hard he works,’ Kaman said. I want to see what the big deal is. His mentality is much different than most players and that’s why he’s where he’s at.’

Kaman is highly underrated, much due to the fact that he looks like Matt Boner's bigger, uglier ogre twin.

I think Kaman can still put up 15 points and 9 rebs next to Gasol but Kirby taking 30 shots will limit his touches imho. I say 12 ppg 8 rpg next season if healthy.

Kaman's All-Star credentials slightly exceed those of Jamaal Magliore.

    I can see why ...

Not many NBA players have the mentality to rape hotel workers, I have to agree to that.

The only way Kaman is going to the allstar game is if he buys a ticket.

Look, I hate to say it but Kool is right here. Mitch did an otherworldly job this off season. The Lakers are stacked. They added an All-Star caliber big to play next to Pau who is elite. They added a deadly young scorer who's shown potential to hit 40% on 3's. They got younger and more explosive with Farmar back instead of Duhon. If LA doesn't make it to the finals this will be a huge stain on Kobe's legacy. I hate that LA always gets the most talented teams around Kobe.

If Bryant can take this squad to a le, he's a great player. And I'll gladly say it. But what will happen is they'll miss the playoffs and Bryant will shoot 23 times a game, and he'll cry for help. Which is why his "greatness" is a figment of the imagination of Laker fans.
