yeah he was the other PG I wanted the spurs to look at besides Jon Barry, I remember Brunson playing well when he had the chance to play

Would fit as the 3rd point guard, a veteran who's a team player and can give you decent minutes if called upon, but who will not have a problem with riding IR for most of the season. Would also cost the minimum (or close to) for one year.

and brunson had a few 10+ assists games
I don't think Barry would be up for spending most of the season on IR.
he had 8 of them with 14 assists being his season high last season
yeah well I agree with that Marcus, but if the spurs had the chance to get Barry for a vet minimum would you mind?
Ranks #9 in the NBA in Assists Per Turnover(3.28) Ranks #4 in the NBA in Assists Per 48 Minutes(10.1)
Brunson's stats
I'd have no problem with JBarry as the 12th man, if they couldn't get anyone else better.
I think he would on a championship team like the Spurs
especially after practically him and Bob Sura and Tracy Mcgrady carried the Rockets last year.
I've floated his name before.

Nothing special but pretty steady. Could step in at anytime to cover for injuries and the like -- better prepared to do that than a guy like Wilks was. Put him in the same category as other non-project vets like Goldie.
Brunson is terrible.
no he is not, out of all the available PG still availabe he would be in the top 10 to 15
I don't think passing is the priority in a back up guard...it's shooting, it's always going to be shooting with Duncan on this team.
I do remember Brunson having some good shooting games against the Spurs...
Brunson played for the Blazers one season. Trust me, he is horrible.
well when he played for the clippers he played very well
12th spot should be a(n athletic) Small Forward. We have enough ball handling.
I'd rather the Spurs kept Wilks.
I did not know that.
There's the 11th spot available too. And also 3 inactive spots.
Rick Brunson???
For what?? Did Rasho get promoted from cotton candy seller and now there is an opening?
These trade, free agent, etc. etc. topics are cool..... but damn..... this is the 2005 NBA Champions.......
Have some respect Marcus.
hey sequ did you watch Brunson play, he is a great role player he had eight 10+ assist games last season with 14 assists being his season high; and he is someone that can come in and slow the pace down.
Slow?
The Spurs aren't a slow team. They operate the best in high gear.
Check out the break your ankles section in the new video.

we should try to sign anthony carter.![]()
Well, who are the Spurs going to find as the 3rd point guard who would be content to spend most of the season on IR?
PG: Parker/Beno/Brunson
SG: Manu/Barry/Brown
SF: Bowen/LJIII/(maybe:wallace/johnsen/jackson/white)
PF: Duncan/Horry
C: Nazr/Rasho/Oberto
and we still dont know if the spurs are interested in either Finley or Houston
