Spurs have all the pieces = no rash moves are really needed. Fine tune and move on period. No team that is a le threat has significantly improved in off season unless you somehow believe the unlikely plausibility of a team like Cleveland leapfroggin the Pacers, Heat and Pistons. I for one am not yet buying that Suns will be markedly improved with anyone that came from the NYK.

Only trade for something that really helps team and there is time, recall last year the Malik trade - why not start season with championship core plus the new big O and go from there?

Time to trade can well be down the road - Pop and Buford have proven they can do it and I for one love the fact the Spurs have a starting five seemingly intact going into next year.

- last year was already hard between barry and brown
- big dog came in for brown injury only
- big dog accepted the role only because it was temporary

Amen, brotha. GRob showed some flashes of defensive strength during his limited minutes in the playoffs, and with a training camp to get in shape and get worked into the offensive system he'd be a great for the Spurs. But has anyone heard anything one way or another about his intentions? When the off season first began I heard that he was good as gone, then I heard that no one in the league was expressing much interest, and it's been weeks since I've heard much of anything at all.

I would take either and stop worrying about finding in a hurry a SF replacement for Bowen - the shape Bowen is in, he could play well for several more years!

Plus Spurs can go small with Duncan and Obierto or Duncan and Nazr at floor in a myriad of potentially talented combos.

I am worried about minutes as well. DBrown is a perfect Spur. He brings it on D, hustles, hustles, hustles, can knock down a shot, and has very good ball handling skills (underrated even) which means he can get to the rack sometimes and surprise us

Glenn, on the other hand, is a veteran, unproven to this team for a long period of time, made a mental mistake that costed him playing time in the postseason in the Seattle series, can score in bunches, and CAN play D when he wants to

Well he can camp out in the corner with Bowen. It's not like the Spurs would try to post Bruce up on him. They did a similar switch in the WCF when they put JJ on Parker.

I agree that this is the probable scenario, especially if they can resign GROB to a short term contract. Spurs are in the catbird seat and can afford to wait and see.

If Big O works into the top two rotation at C then the third man will go on the block for a trade by Feb. Nasr is the wildcard because of his contract year coming up. If he really gets into the system it will be hard to let him go--unless Oberto plays better. This three way battle will be a highlight of camp and the early games this year IMHO>
