anyone will be better than goodhair
Dems thinking they have a shot at TX Gov when their big play was with pro choice. Good luck with all that.
Hard to see anyone mounting any real challenge to Greg Abbot especially not an abortion loving lib.
So free abortions and gay marriage are coming to Texas?
If she promised Austin/SA a pro team and the ability for me to get LHN, I'd vote for her.
Does she speak Spanish? Can the Dems finally get out the Hispanic vote? the black vote?
At least 4 years too early for a D to win statewide office in Texas, tbh.
Understandably, Average Joe will probably base entire vote on the Filibuster issue, but on others there is an interesting juxtaposition of traditional "liberal" and "conservative" values.
Abbott has joined with Holder to block the AA/US Air merger, meanwhile Davis is for it. Davis a pro-business D, while Abbott made all his money by suing a property owner when a tree fell on him while jogging and now is a champion of Tort Reform that prevents victims from getting pay days like his. At the same time, Abbott squanders taxpayer dollars suing the Obama administration on any and every issue for political points.
"Abbott has joined with Holder to block the AA/US Air merger"
Probably Southwest airlines outbid for him vs AA. The same Southwest airlines that got the Texas high-speed train, TGV, killed 20 years ago.
the gop is getting lazy and relies on the ignorance of their base.. it will happen soon enough
Yeah and Davis filibustered purely on principal and had nothing to do with politics.
Absolutely not. With all their garbage promises that never come true. Atleast promise something good.
Plus it's not as if the TX Gov has much power, like for instance the Gov of CO
you know what, you ain't even lying. it.
The difference is that Davis' filibuster is consistent with her ideology, whereas Abbott's is seemingly at odds with fiscal conservativism.
A woman thinks she should run for guvna cause she "won" a multi-hour fit? Well let's keep that quiet from every woman ever.
Perry throws fits all the time, and calls for special sessions when his favorite bills get voted down.
The Repub Senators were the ones throwing fits during the filibuster tbh.
the less Repug Senators, getting slapped by Wendy's nationwide-watched filibuster, responded by cheating, declaring they won AFTER 12 midnight.
Typical Repug, we don't like reality, so we create our own fantasy.![]()
I was rooting for Wendy because I thought it was a stupid bill but last I checked it passed easily. I'm not sure expending all that time on a futile effort is grounds for running for governor, but we will see.
Wendy bashing in Repug balls
Thank Wendy Davis for defeating Texas Republicans’ extreme redistricting plan
Wendy Davis recently scored a big victory in court—beating back a Republican gerrymander of her Texas Senate district for discriminating against people of color.
What's more, the court ordered the Republican-controlled Texas state government to pay legal bills Davis racked up challenging the gerrymander.

Abbot's intent was to gerrymander Davis completely out of the legislature. Abbot, Repugs
