I've given up on that series since NBA live 06 tbh. I'm still playing 05 though with up-to-date roster. 05 was the last good game the NBA lives had made imho

NBA Live 99-06 > Anything 2K tried to do (cept 2k5) during the same span.
nba live used to be cool back when the ps2 original xbox were the main consoles. 2k has overtaken basketball games, at this point it's too late for nba live to try to take the helm. once 2k11 came along, it was over.
NBA Live was decent in the mid-2000s but it never really improved the way 2K did.
2k blasted past them, they were going to do it in football too, so EA said it and bought the exclusivity

i always had problems trying to start a fast break run, the player im passing to always have his head corked back for some reason and misses the pass
helmet cam in football was awesome
nba live is trash
Live has always sucked. Even 2k hasn't been the same in a while. NBA2k-2k2 were classics. 2k7 was solid too. Always used to kill my friends with the Heat. Kapono, Posey and Williams from the outside. Wade everywhere else.
never liked the 2K series. incredibly easy to score. just get the ball into the paint and you pretty much have 2 points. NBA live in the mid 2000's made you actually work for your points. in 04 the shotblocking was really effective, so you couldn't just prance into the paint and shoot a layup between the trees
Unless you're playing with Shaq... i always used the backdown button with shaq and then he'll dunk all over the opponent if he's deep enough. TD is also good to use in NBA Live games as his hook shot was unstoppable.. i never found a way to score efficiently with guards though.
IMO NBA Live 10>2K10. EA should've continued with Live but they ed up by going to Elite's NHL-like game system
Plus he was Dwight Howard before Dwight Howard was Dwight Howard
Just another Live game that focuses on offense:
last live game I bought was Live 95. not bad tbh.
