There isn't really a marquee match-up this week, and that's kind of dull. The best ones are probably Bengals/Packers and Texans/Ravens. I'm glad that I don't have to deal with a crappy Internet feed this week.

Pretty pedestrian if you're not a fan of one of those four teams.

Can't wait till the Boys get outplayed by the Rams further exposing the fraud this team is, tbh...watch Bradford have a big game against this inconsistent defense to start the snowball effect

To anyone who might be able to offer a perspective as a fan of the Texans/Ravens/etc., in my other league I have Ridley, Spiller, Foster and Pierce and I need to pick the best 3. Spiller and Foster are the no brainers imo, so it's between Ridley and Pierce. Both NE and Balt have an elite offensive line (imo) but a ty group at receiver which means they will try to run but the box will be stacked. I'm leaning towards Pierce since Ridley has been dog and Tampa's run D is elite.

What do yall think? I'm not a fan of either one this week but Pierce seems like the less ty option.

I don't like the way the Ravens' offensive line is playing right now. Osemele was a beast in run blocking last season, but he's not winning his match-ups so far. Now, he's going up against Watt. Gradkowski is a good run-blocker at the second level, but he's weak is he can't get in space. McKinnie doesn't really seem to care this season. Yanda and Oher should be fine for Pierce to run behind, but he's only averaged 2.8 YPC or something like that. Rice is out, so Pierce should get a lot of touches, but he's probably not going to be all that efficient.

    Ravens and Texans inactives:

    Baltimore Ravens ‏@Ravens 19s
#Ravens inactives: RB Rice, WR Jones, LB Brown, C/G Jensen, WR Thompson, DT Williams, DE Canty

    Baltimore Ravens ‏@Ravens 2m
#Texans inactives: QB Keenum, WR Jean, OLB Montgomery, G White, OT Brown, ILB Tuggle, DE Jamison.
Everyone who appeared on the injury report for Baltimore this week except Chykie Brown is out. That stings. The Ravens have solid depth at all those positions, but Houston has another advantage now.

Yeah I don't doubt any of that (didn't know the Ravens O-line was playing poorly tho) but as you said Pierce will get a lot of touches. It's pretty much a dead heat between the two because there are so many things going for one but not the other. Houston has the ability to open up an early lead and force Baltimore into passing mode more than Tampa does with New England, but Tampa is a better overall run D than Houston so I'm not sure which one is the better matchup.

How good is Pierce as a pass catcher? One big thing holding Ridley back as an every down player is how limited he is as a receiver.

i'd go with ridley tbh, i like pierce, but if ray rice had as much problems as he did so far, then i can't see pierce doing much better behind that oline.

Skins will get their first win this season. Lions are winless in DC and Reggie is out

Calvin with 12 catches, 180ish yards and 2 tds tho

Pierce is a solid pass-catcher, but he's gotten almost no attempts (only eight receptions for his career) because that's probably Rice's biggest strong suit. So I don't think Flacco is going to have the trust with him to do more than a couple of dump-offs.

A major thing going for Pierce is that he may be the only back to get any touches for the Ravens today. With Rice out, the only other running-back on the roster is Shaun Draughn, whom the team signed off the street a couple of weeks ago to return kicks. Jusczyk may get some carries, but he only had a handful in college. Also, Caldwell seems determined to keep running the ball no matter what, so Pierce should get a lot of carries even if he's ineffective provided the Ravens don't get blown out by halftime.

I also find these ESPN projections hilarious. Ridley projected for 13.5 points, Pierce 15 points. I'd be in thrilled if I get double digit points from whichever one I pick.

Pierce is probably a better runner than Rice, and he's definitely a better one-cut back. He definitely can do better than Rice, but as I said before, Watt vs. Osemele is certainly the match-up to watch.

The only thing stopping me from thinking Pierce is the easy decision is the vibe coming from New England this week that they need to be more physical and establish the run.

First read option of the year for the skins. Looks a lot like last years offense with the rollouts boots and PA. Still had to punt tho but at least we getting yards and first downs

Green Bay's kick returner killed them against SF, yet McCarthy decides to allow him to keep his job, now he costs them again..most overrated coach in the league, tbh..
