No.
They almost did when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. Benson and his granddaughter were going to keep the Saints in San Antonio, call them the San Antonio Saints, and play in the crappy Alamodome until the city built a new state of the art domed stadium which Mayor Hardberger thought he could get passed.
They actually played , not one, not two, but three regular season games here. That is three more games than the Dallas or Houston team ever played here! Go figure!
But then Jerry Jones got with the NFL Comish and nixed the move!
Bas s!
not even a discussion till jerruh is in the dirt
That is the DALLAS Cowboys.
It is not the SAN ANTONIO Cowboys.
lol u must not be from SA...![]()
Ok,. I'll bite.
How so? Who are they?

I wish Cowboys or Texans would play a preseason game in San Antonio in the Alamodome. Of course those two teams are the favorite teams in SA, but there is a lot of huge fan bases here like Bears,Packers,49ers and Redskins fans in San Antonio. I see the Redskins every year in Dallas and looking forward to seeing them next year in Houston, but I would love too see some of these other teams play preseason games in the dome.
If I'm Pittsburgh I go for 2 if I score
Someone on here must have an idea.
I don't want any more teams in the NFL, unless you could move Jacksonville there. even then, I prefer SA to only have the Spurs, though maybe I'd feel differently if I lived in SA.
I think an MLS team would make more sense than an NFL team imo.
When the NFL expands, they want to add TV markets. San Antonio/Austin aren't huge markets and they already have their TVs turned on every Sunday to the NFL.
So the only thing left is to have an owner willingly relocate his team to SA. If Red McCombs was unable to move the Vikings, I don't know why anyone would hold any amount of optimism here.
The NFL is praying that the apathy in LosAngeles will go away.
San Antonio doesn't deserve an NFL team (not that every city that currently has one does though). The residents of SA treat their city like . Every time they build something nice, a bunch of clowns move in and "tag" the out of it and it never gets cleaned up.
Most of SA is a hole as well. There are small pockets of town that are nice, but for the most part, it's all garbage. Downtown SA is absolutely disgusting once you walk upstairs from the riverwalk, and I've known several people that have been mugged while walking to their vehicles after a night of partying.
They built a stadium that doesn't get used, then they built an arena in possibly the worst part of town. I remember locals telling me that once the At&t center went up, that the area around it would boom with shopping, restaraunts, etc...that never happened.
They have an abnormally high crime rate, an abnormally high teen pregnancy rate, and an abnormally low literacy rate. SA is made for tourists, not people that have to live there, and therefore they shouldn't have an NFL team.
Just my two cents. Sorry if I offend anyone.
San Antonio and Austin should pool their resources and build a state of the art stadium on IH35 half way between the two cities. There is bound to be aa NFL team that needs a new home and avid fans.
I know L. A. is first on the list for relocation, but they remain apathetic.
I wonder which cities are in danger of losing their team.
