I'd say they still have a chance even in the 9th inning if they're down by less than 3.

Nah, Rays want it way more. Wouldn't be surprised if the team quit in hopes Washington would be fired afterwards.

Never say never. Rangers want it just as bad. Price pitched a great game and got favorable zone from the ump. 8th and 9th innings will create some electricity!

please explain this statement...how you're aware of this. We're playing hurt...we've had to go on this win streak just for this opportunity. But yeah, I'm sure they just want to lose after winning all those games just to get here. That would make the most sense. Don't you think if they wanted Washington fired they would have made sure they didn't even get here? All they had to do was lose one game on this streak.

Couldn't ask for a better lineup in the 9th. One last chance.

Considering they pulled the same last year it isn't much of a stretch. Hamilton was the ringleader behind it but I guess his at ude rubbed off a bit. Doesn't help Washington's been piss poor at decision making for awhile now.

well damn what a strange season. oh well hopefully we can get a new prospect or two to rejuvenate the offense. Pitching still looks strong as with Harrison, Colby, Darvish, Garza, Perez looks like the real deal. Damn that starting five looks damn good. Oh forgot about goofball Holland too.

    David Price

Rays deserved that, I still don't see how the 6 umpires blew that call when it was so obvious the ball was trapped by the outfielder.

Honestly I'm not sure. But I have a feeling Jon Daniels will try to sign him long term though. The Rangers have been trying to attain Garza for over two years. Plus if anything is true it's that you can't have enough pitching. The Rangers had collapses towards the end, but if it wasn't for their overall pitching staff they would have been cellar dwellars for sure. That offense was not the same. Here are the bats they lost since their last WS appearance: Micheal Young, Mike Napoli, Josh Hamilton and Cruz for 50 games. I'm I missing anyone? Either way the Rangers are not that far off from being a power offense again. Look at the young guys they have to build around:

    Jurickson Profar
    Elvis Andrus
    Ian Kinsler
    Craig Gentry
    Leonys Martin
    Mitch Moreland

With those guys listed you have a combination of speed, power and hitting. Now its all about closing the gaps in the lineup. I think that this team will still be a force sooner than later.

I think order needs to be heavily adjusted. Kinsler needs to be in the middle of the order, not leadoff. He sucks at base running now, as opposed to being a solid baserunner who sometimes was a bonehead in the past. And they need someone that consistently comes up with clutch hits in the middle of the order. Kinsler is probably the most clutch hitter on the team. He fits there better.

I STRONGLY believe Gentry deserves to be an everyday player now, unless you can find someone noticably better. He was hurt early in the year, but after he came back, he did nothing but consistently produce offensively and defensively. I believe Wash mishandled him HORRIBLY this season. Either Gentry or Martin needs to be leadoff from now on, I personally say Gentry because Martin strikes out too much. If Martin can be more disciplined at the plate, then he will be the better leadoff option, but until then, Gentry should have it.

Moreland needs to be replaced. He is just too inconsistent. When hes feeling it, hes amazing in all phases of the game. But its too infrequent to warrant him being an everyday player anymore. Too bad Chris Davis never panned out during his time here. He would be exactly what this team needs to replace Moreland with.

Cruz is a perfect DH for this team, but I wonder how accepting he would be of that role.

Profar is probably the biggest question mark. I want to keep him, but it may be difficult, as they already have one of the best defensive duos in Kinsler and Andrus in the middle. Maybe its time for him to learn to be an everyday 1st baseman, and be the primary backup to spell Beltre, Kinsler, and Andrus when they get days off from fielding, and have Moreland jump in at 1st on those days.
