I think it's pretty obvious that the Dems are not going to capitulate on Obamacare funding. Why should they? Whatever we think who is at fault the polls are very clear.

Then I see a chart like this:

and I think to myself that not all GOP are morons to the point where they are willing to let the economy tank and be blamed for it with midterm elections growing ever nearer. House reps get short terms after all. GOP leadership has to be in a tizzy worrying about losing their house majority. I would too after I saw this graphic.

Keep in mind that while Obama is taking most of the heat for the democrats, he is not up for reelection but the GOP in bents that maintain their belligerence are right in the crosshairs. Is going to be interesting watching GOP reps up for reelection start to cross over and then the obvious reprisals and backbiting that is sure to follow. I always do love the GOP tearing itself to shreds over puritanical nonsense like 'RINO. As if there is only one way to look at things if you want to be GOP when it's one of two parties that represent 300m peeps.

    I don't envy the GOP.

I misspoke but my point should not have eluded you. Do you see any other outcome than the crossing of the picket line and subsequent infighting?

If it means anything, I actually want the republicans to completely cave and let the dems have their way.

5 less, venal Repugs who said they would vote for clean CR have now reversed and said they wouldn't (how did much Kock Bros paid or promised them?) which would mean the CR doesn't have the 217 votes.

So the extortion racket continues, Dems holding firm, while the Repugs/Fox put out talking points at how bad THEIR shutdown hurts people (whom they NEVER care about otherwise).
